Does it get any better than March!? Aside from celebrating my birthday and
March Madness, I have an annual spring training trip to look forward to. We
just got back last night...this year we decided to take a hiatus from Arizona
and spend some time with the seniors down South. While the talent and weather
are sub par to the desert, the Mets and Yankees train there. With a group of
New Yorkers, a Florida trip is oft-necessary. Below are some photos from George
M. Steinbrenner Field, where the Yankees play in March. Compared to the other
spring training facilities that I’ve had the opportunity to visit in
Florida and Arizona, this stadium is the least fun in my opinion. The atmosphere
is stuffy and the crowd is stiff (see Yankee Stadium Bronx). Still…better
than a day in the office (and the beverages were flowing). Unfortunately, our
second game (Mets at Astros) was rained out as well as our trip (delayed) home
which somewhat explains the late issue. I wish that was the worst news this
weekend…
As a Temple alumnus watching a 5 go down to an Ivy League 12,
my trip could have been better. (Still better than a day in the office).
I told
you last week that I would review our league’s draft results.
However, given the flight back north coupled with me forgetting to post the
draft results (remember, I’m a newbie and not good) and not certain that
you checked out our site. Therefore, I present to you our official
2010 draft results.
Again, our rules and scoring system can be found on our site at gfantasy.com.
Please take this opportunity to check these out. I encourage you to submit
questions and comments. I will address these as well as offer my perspective
on what happened on February 27, 2010. My timing should be right on par as
we’re about to kick off the 2010 season…
See you next Tuesday!
