12/08/22	Cole Hamels Hopes to Pitch in 2023; 4-Time All-Star Last Pitched in MLB in 2020. The Atlanta Braves obviously thought so too, signing him to a one-year, $18 million contract. However, Hamels pitched a total of 3.1 innings in the shortened 2020 campaign. He experienced shoulder discomfort during the spring and then battled triceps tendinitis as Opening Day neared. There was drama down to the final out, when rookie center fielder Odubel Herrera stumbled on the warning track, but managed to lean forward and catch Kris Bryant’s flyball to end the game.
