6/11/25 Proposed Orioles Trade Sends Flamethrowing All-Star Closer To Dodgers. The Baltimore Orioles have not had the season they had hoped for, and that could now mean they must sell at this year's deadline. If Baltimore does indeed end up selling, they could be moving one of the best reliever talents made available. Felix Bautista hasn't looked exactly the same since returning from Tommy John surgery, but he has had flashes. A deal centered around Bautista could look like this; the Orioles ship the reliever to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for a prospect package including infielder Alex Freeland and right-handed pitcher Patrick Copen.

The New York Mets are one of the best teams in Major League Baseball and will be aggressive ahead of the trade deadline. 5/23/25 Orioles rumors: Ken Rosenthal predicts realistic trade piece with most value. The Baltimore Orioles are having a miserable 2025 MLB season. They enter Memorial Day Weekend at 16-32, last place in the American League East . That has Orioles fans and pundits looking ahead to the MLB trade deadline , as this season slips away. Could they deal Felix Bautista or Tomoyuki Sugano? Ken Rosenthal could see one of those pitchers on the move this summer. “Time to ask: Which Orioles player might bring back the most in a trade? The best guess is probably closer Félix Bautista, who is earning just $1 million this season and under club control for two more,” Rosenthal wrote in The Athletic. When healthy, Bautista has been one of the premier relievers in baseball. He was an All-Star and

At 16-32, they own the second worst record in the American League. As a result, Baltimore may end up selling some pieces off at the trade deadline. 5/21/25 Chasing Saves: Jordan Leasure Emerging As A Fantasy Baseball Sleeper. Chasing saves on the White Sox, Rockies, and Marlins has been a tall task in 2025. They have a combined 42 wins with 13 saves. I should probably include Baltimore (15) and Pittsburgh (16), but the Orioles have a set closer (Felix Bautista – 7-for-7 in saves) and David Bednar (3.38 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, one walk, and 20 strikeouts over 13.1 innings) has pitched well enough since returning from the minors to earn the bulk of saves for Pittsburgh. Miami Marlins Closer Battle Since April 21st, Miami has three saves (Calvin Faucher – 1 and Jesus Tinoco – 2). Faucher was trending after tossing 11.2 shutout innings with 14 strikeouts, but the Cubs drilled him for six runs and six baserunners on Tuesday night

3/29/25 Return of Orioles Superstar Closer Gave His Teammate Goosebumps. Throughout the spring, the Baltimore Orioles were careful not to put too much pressure on the impending return of Felix Bautista. Coming off Tommy John surgery that caused him to miss the entire 2024 campaign, the organization made it clear they were going to be extra cautious when it came to their superstar closer, not wanting to rush him back before he was 100% ready to take the mound in a competitive game. Bautista showed flashes of his dominance during the spring, but he also looked like he hadn't pitched to Major League hitters in over a year, and with roster decisions coming down to the wire before Opening Day, it wasn't clear whether or not he would be included. Ultimately, the Orioles were comfortable with where he was at in his recovery, and he made the trip north of the border as part of the 26-man roster to face the Toronto Blue Jays.

3/25/25 MLB insider predicts Dylan Cease trade to AL East contender. Despite a lineup loaded with young stars and a bullpen that will benefit from the return of All-Star closer Felix Bautista, it's hard to ignore how weak the Baltimore Orioles starting rotation is. The club failed to retain former Cy Young award winner Corbin Burnes and instead chose to patch together the rotation with 41-year-old Charlie Morton, 35-year-old Tomoyuki Sugano, and 37-year-old Kyle Gibson. To compound matters, promising young right-hander Grayson Rodriguez will start the season on the injured list, leaving the uninspiring Zach Eflin as the de facto Opening Day starter.

3/18/25 Former Baltimore Orioles Flop Signs Deal With NL Powerhouse Atlanta Braves. When Felix Bautista underwent Tommy John surgery in 2023, the Baltimore Orioles knew they needed to address their bullpen for the 2024 season. Without one of the best closers in the sport, ensuring they had a viable option to finish games for them became a top priority for Mike Elias. Despite the poor ending to the right-hander's time with the Philadelphia Phillies, he was still coming off an All-Star season where he produced a 3.26 ERA and ERA+ that was 32 points above the league average across his 71 outings, going 23-for-28 in save opportunities.

1/10/25 MLB rumors: Why Orioles passed on Jeff Hoffman before Blue Jays signing. In order to get back to the postseason in 2025, the Baltimore Orioles need another arm or two added to their pitching staff. Particularly in the bullpen, as closer Felix Bautista makes his way back from Tommy John surgery. News that the team had agreed to terms with pitcher Jeff Hoffman to a three-year deal, only for a physical to hold things up, came via FanSided's Robert Murray on X, formerly, Twitter. “Sources: Before signing with the Blue Jays, Jeff Hoffman had reached a three-year, $40 million agreement with the Baltimore Orioles,” posted Murray on the social media site.

5/23/24 Baltimore Orioles Could Bring In New Elite Closer With Trade. The Baltimore Orioles are one of baseball's best teams and it is time to look to the trade market to bolster their roster for a playoff push. One of the most intriguing storylines for Baltimore this season has been their closers. Felix Bautista is set to miss the season, so they brought in Craig Kimbrel. Kimbrel has been iffy, could they bring in someone else to compete?

5/12/24 Have Baltimore Orioles Removed Offseason Signing From Closer Role?. The Baltimore Orioles knew their end of game situations would be a bit more complicated and worrisome this season with their superstar closer Felix Bautista unavailable for the entire year as he recovers from Tommy John surgery. Despite being solid for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2023, earning an All-Star selection and finishing with 23 saves, his tenure ended sour there after he posted a 6.00 ERA, a blown save, and was credited with two losses during their postseason run. There were some concerns that might carry over to the Orioles considering he's 35 years old and getting close to the end of his career.
