5/26/10Jamie Moyer is going to have games like this...but it still drives me crazy. Moyer seemed to be pitching out of trouble all night but only allowed 4 ER on 7 hits over just 5 innings to take the loss. Moyer, 5-4 with a 4.55 ERA, will face the Marlins next Sunday in Florida.
5/15/10Jamie Moyer, the ageless wonder, did it again. Moyer allowed 3 HR's in the 2nd inning but rebounded to limit the damage after that for the win. Moyer's line for the night: 6.1 IP, 4 ER, 3 BB, 3 K's. Moyer, 5-2 with a 4.57 ERA will get Chicago at home next Wednesday.

1/06/10Moyer is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee on Monday. "I would doubt that Jamie would be ready for opening day," GM Ruben Amaro said.
12/29/09Mlb.com reports that the 47-year old Moyer has been in the hospital three times since he suffered a sports hernia injury in September, and he has a fourth trip coming up. He had an initial surgery October 2, but returned to the hospital five days letter with a blood infection. He seemed to be making progress until he had to go back to the hospital November 24 after complaining of recurring symptoms. During that stay, he had a second surgery after tests showed a small collection of infected blood.
11/27/09Moyer underwent surgery today to wash out a collection of blood that could be infected. "Jamie is doing very well," Phillies physician Michael Ciccotti said in a statement. "The surgery is not likely to impact his rehab schedule and is likely to have minimal impact on his spring training schedule." Moyer is expected to remain hospitalized until Monday.
11/25/09Moyer has been hospitalized with complications from a sports hernia. Phillies physician Michael Ciccotti said Wednesday evening that Moyer "is in no way seriously ill." "He's very comfortable," Ciccotti said. "He's quite fine. He's walking. He's eating. He's completely comfortable and fine. We're just taking appropriate precautions, and also wanting to do what we can to make sure he's on track for Spring Training."
10/09/09Moyer has been in the hospital the past two days with a blood infection. "We don't think it's anything serious," GM Ruben Amaro said. "We think he's fine. He's on antibiotics right now."

9/13/09Jamie Moyer pitched well enough for the win but was let down by the bullpen. Moyer allowed the Mets 5 ER on 7 hits over 7 innings but received a no-decision. Moyer will continue to pitch out of the bullpen with the occasional start down the stretch.
8/18/09Jamie Moyer came out of the pen after a rain delay and pitched 6 scoreless innings for the win. Moyer allowed only 2 hits while striking out 5 for his 11th win. Moyer, 11-9 with a 5.22 ERA, will continue to pitch out of the bullpen but looked good Tuesday versus the Diamondbacks.
8/12/09Jamie Moyer was informed by the Phillies he would be moved out of the rotation to make room for Pedro Martinez. Moyer was not happy about pitching out of the bullpen but will do what is best for the team. With Cole Hamels, Cliff Lee, Joe Blanton & J.A. Happ all pitching better, Moyer was the logical choice. Moyer is 10-9 with a 5.47 ERA and has been throwing batting practice in his last couple starts. Moyer still has one more year on his contract.
8/10/09Jamie Moyer is a nice guy but needs to be removed from the rotation. Moyer limited the Marlins to only 2 ER but gave up 11 hits in his 5 innings of work. Moyer seems to always pitch out of trouble and does not strikeout many. Moyer, 10-9 with a 5.47 ERA, is scheduled to pitch Saturday in Atlanta but that could change if Pedro Martinez is ready.

6/18/09Jamie Moyer dug a hole in the first inning and the Phillies offense could not climb out. Moyer allowed 6 ER on 10 hits over 6 innings to take the loss. Moyer, 4-6 with a 6.35 ERA, has been shaky all year and may need to think about retirement. Moyer meant alot to the Phillies last year but just isn't the same this year.

6/06/09Jamie Moyer pitched another solid game and was in line for the win...until closer Brad Lidge came in. Moyer allowed 2 ER on 4 hits and left after 7 innings but received a no-decision. Moyer, 4-5 with a 6.27 ERA, will get the Mets in NY next week.

4/22/09Jamie Moyer earned his 2nd win of the season with another solid, workmanlike effort. Moyer allowed 4 ER on 7 hits over 6 innings but was backed by 11 runs of production. Moyer, 2-1, lowered his ERA to 6.35 on the season and will face the Marlins in Florida this Sunday.

4/08/09Jamie Moyer must have gone to the Brett Myers school of pitching. Moyer's first pitch of the game was sent over the RF wall for a HR and a quick 1-0 deficit. Moyer allowed 4 ER on 8 hits over 5 innings to take the loss. Moyer, 0-1, sports a 7.20 ERA and will look to rebound next Monday at Washington.
4/03/09Jamie Moyer has not instilled confidence with his last two outings...and Thursday was no different. Moyer allowed 9 ER on 11 hits over just 4 innings. Moyer struck out 3 but also allowed 3 HR's and finished the spring with an 8.27 ERA.

12/15/08The Phils and Moyer have agreed to a two-year deal.
10/13/08Jamie Moyer got lit up! Moyer allowed 6 ER on 6 hits in only 1.1 innings pitched to take the loss in game 3. Moyer had a chance to get out of trouble in the first but could not get strike three on several batters. Moyer may not start again unless the Phillies make it to the World Series.
10/05/08Jamie Moyer got off to a rough start in the first inning but settled down after that. Moyer allowed 2 ER, in the 1st inning, 4 hits and was pulled for a pinch-hitter after 4 innings. Moyer struck out 3 in the loss and sports a 4.50 ERA in the playoffs.
9/28/08Jamie Moyer did it again. Just like last year when Moyer won the clinching game versus the Nationals, he did it on Saturday. Moyer limited the Nationals to 1 ER on 6 hits over 6 innings for the win. Moyer, 16-7 with a 3.71 ERA, is done for the regular season.
