After getting hit, he lay face down and motionless for two or three minutes, his legs sprawled as Orioles’ trainers tended to him. A team spokesman said that Freel never lost consciousness, and was talking in the clubhouse before he went to the hospital. “He had a pretty good knot on the back of his head,” Orioles manager Dave Trembley said. |
