Right-hander Todd Wellemeyer will make his final rehab start Wednesday in Round Rock for Triple-A Fresno. The right-hander has missed 47 games with a right quad strain suffered June 11.

Wellemeyer pitched 2 2/3 innings in a rookie-league game in Arizona on Wednesday and will pitch in another minor-league game on Monday. When he returns he will be a reliever.

San Francisco Giants fifth starter Todd Wellemeyer has been placed on the disabled list with a strained right quadriceps muscle. He was injured during Thursday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds when he hit into a double play with the bases loaded in the top of the third inning.
