8/06/10The Giants have a new long reliever, and he's their old No. 5 starter. Todd Wellemeyer rejoined the team in a roundabout way, giving the Giants a true long reliever for the first time this year.
8/04/10Right-hander Todd Wellemeyer will make his final rehab start Wednesday in Round Rock for Triple-A Fresno. The right-hander has missed 47 games with a right quad strain suffered June 11.
7/31/10Still no further update on Wellemeyer. MLB.com has a late July return, which will now be pushed into August.
7/22/10According to MLB.com, Wellemeyer has a strained right quad with a return date of late July.
7/16/10Wellemeyer pitched 2 2/3 innings in a rookie-league game in Arizona on Wednesday and will pitch in another minor-league game on Monday. When he returns he will be a reliever.
6/12/10San Francisco Giants fifth starter Todd Wellemeyer has been placed on the disabled list with a strained right quadriceps muscle. He was injured during Thursday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds when he hit into a double play with the bases loaded in the top of the third inning.
