Repko had stints in the Major Leagues in four of the last five seasons, missing 2007 entirely with a torn hamstring muscle. Repko had been in the organization since 1999, when he was taken with a supplemental Draft pick. A defensive specialist, Repko hadn't shown enough offensive production in recent years to prevent the Dodgers from signing Reed Johnson as the fourth outfielder after Juan Pierre was traded away, then adding Garret Anderson.
