8/11/10The Reds will see if right-hander Homer Bailey can pitch out of the bullpen, pitching coach Bryan Price said. Bailey currently is pitching with Triple-A Louisville, where he has a 2.50 ERA in three starts. But the Reds have plenty of starting pitchers, so they’re trying to figure out if Bailey – a starter throughout his career – could help the bullpen. So far, so good. On Tuesday night, Bailey pitched a scoreless inning of relief in the Bats' 8-7 victory over the Mud Hens in Toledo. He did walk a batter.
8/08/10Bailey is three starts into a rehabilitation assignment and has a 1.53 ERA after he threw seven scoreless innings for Triple-A Louisville on Thursday. Bailey has made two starts for the Bats and one for Class A Dayton.

7/19/10Homer Bailey threw a bullpen session on Sunday, and if he recovers properly, Reds pitching coach Bryan Price expects him to throw a simulated game on Wednesday. 7/07/10Right-hander Homer Bailey rejoined the team Tuesday in New York. He wasn’t with club in Chicago because of the cramped facilities at Wrigley Field. Bailey, on the DL with shoulder tightness since May 24, threw off flat ground Tuesday. He’ll have his first bullpen session in Philadelphia.
6/29/10Bailey began throwing for the first time since being shut down more than two weeks ago. He made 30 throws from a distance of 60 feet on flat ground. "I did two different sets. The first set was a little awkward," said Bailey. "When you don't throw for two weeks and all of a sudden throw, it's kind of like sitting on the couch for a long time and then walking. The first few steps you're like, 'Oh man.' After that, it's, 'All right, I'm good.' It was pain-free. Everything was nice and loose. Granted, it's only Day 1, but definitely, they're good signs."
6/27/10Injured Reds starting pitcher Homer Bailey will resume his throwing program on Monday. Bailey has been on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation since May 24. He was shut down from throwing June 11 after he felt recurring soreness.
6/23/10According to MLB Injury page, Bailey is slated to start a throwing program on June 24th. His return date is TBD.
6/08/10Bailey went on the disabled list May 24 with shoulder inflammation and is eligible to return Tuesday. He'll start for the Bats on Tuesday night at Syracuse. Baker said Bailey pitched well in a bullpen session Monday, and he expects Bailey to throw around 80 pitches in his rehab start. He last started May 23 at Cleveland, where he allowed three runs in 2 1/3 innings before leaving with the shoulder problem. For the season, he's 1-2 with a 5.51 ERA.
6/06/10Bailey threw a side session before Friday's game and said afterward that it went fine. The team is still going to be careful with him. "It's just been my experience with guys that are hurt that you go a little bit longer than what they tell you," Manager Dusty Baker said. "For their sake."
6/01/10Injured Reds starting pitcher Homer Bailey tested his arm on Monday by throwing for the first time since he went on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. Bailey played long toss for 10 minutes from distances of 90-100 feet. No issues were reported. Bailey could move on to throwing in a bullpen session within a couple of days. The Reds placed Bailey on the DL on May 24, one day after he could pitch only 2 1/3 innings in his start vs. the Indians. He is eligible to be activated on June 8. In nine starts this season, the 24-year-old is 1-2 with a 5.51 ERA.
5/25/10Bailey was placed on the 15-Day DL. He was diagnosed with shoulder inflammation.
