Manager Terry Francona made the announcement Monday before the opener of a three-game series at San Francisco. Team orthopedist Dr. Tim Kremchek will perform the surgery to repair a torn labrum and Toglia will do his rehabilitation in San Diego to be close to family, according to Francona.
