Film Room: What The Steelers Are Getting In New DL Daniel Ekuale. The Pittsburgh Steelers have made their first, though certainly not their last, offseason addition to improve their defensive line. A unit that ended 2024 as one of the team’s weaknesses, the Steelers signed veteran Daniel Ekuale Sunday night. Starting 16 games for the New England Patriots, Ekuale, at 31 years old, doesn’t make the room […]

NFL free agency: Cardinals get slew of 'B' grades. The flashiest of the of Cardinals' free agency acquisitions, edge rusher Josh Sweat, was given an A- by USA Today writer Jacob Camenker. The addition filled a major need for the Cardinals, prompting the site to give the team such a solid mark. “The Cardinals have needed a top-tier edge rusher since Chandler Jones left the team following the 2021 NFL season and Sweat has previous experience with head coach Jonathan Gannon from their time together with the Eagles,” Camenker wrote.

Another Mock Draft Sees Giants Push Up the Board for a Quarterback. With the first week of free agency in the books, the New York Giants, who added to several areas of weakness on their roster–defensive line, offensive line depth, defensive secondary, and special teams–are still waiting to fill what general manager Joe Schoen calls their “most important position.” Of course, that is the quarterback spot, where the Giants currently have just third-year man Tommy DeVito under contract and are waiting to see who among Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Jamesis Winston, and Joe Flacco will lead the offense in 2025.

Kevin O'Connell (QB - LAC)

3/16/25 3:11 PM -
Why Jordan Mason is a perfect addition to the Minnesota Vikings' backfield. The Vikings aren't messing around when it comes to fixing a running game that has struggled during the first three years of the Kevin O'Connell era. Last week, they brought back Aaron Jones on a two-year extension before he could hit free agency, then upgraded the interior of their offensive line by signing former Colts standouts Ryan Kelly and Will Fries. The Vikings traded a 2026 sixth-round pick and a pick swap this year (No. 160 overall for No. 187 overall) to San Francisco for Mason. Because they got a 2026 sixth-rounder from the Texans in Thursday's Ed Ingram trade, they essentially traded Ingram (a player who was no longer in their plans) and moved down just 27 spots in this year's draft to land Mason, who is reportedly signing a two-year deal with the Vikings with over $7 million guaranteed and a maximum value of $12 million.

Jets rumors: How Garrett Wilson really feels about Ohio State reunion with Justin Fields. During Justin Fields' two seasons at Ohio State, he threw to an array of receivers who've shone in the NFL, including New York Jets wide-out Garrett Wilson. With both former Buckeyes landing on different teams in the draft, the idea of reuniting in the NFL was seemingly no longer very likely. In fact, reporters approached Wilson at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine and asked about the possibility of joining Fields with the Bears.

Colts Free Agent Could Be 'Terrific' Fit with Eagles. The Indianapolis Colts did considerable work to their defensive backs room to start this year's free agency period. With the additions of both cornerback Charvarius Ward and safety Camryn Bynum into the mix as injections of reinforcements into the defense, this Colts secondary is primed to look extremely different for the 2025 campaign. In the eyes of Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox, that best fit might be with the Philadelphia Eagles and Vic Fangio's defense.

Seven-Round Packers Mock Draft After Week 1 of Free Agency: First-Round Receiver. Will this be the year the Green Bay Packers draft a receiver in the first round? The Packers haven't done it since 2002 – generally for good reason. This year, there is good reason to make it happen, which is why we sent Texas receiver Matthew Golden to the Packers in the first round of our latest NFL mock draft. 3/16/25 2:22 PM -
Latest Move From Rams' Rival 49ers Is a Shocking One. The San Francisco 49ers traded away running back Jordan Mason to the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday night. The 49ers sent Mason and the 187th pick in exchange for the 160th pick and a 2026 sixth round selection. The move remains a questionable one, but it does virtually guarantee the team will add another running back to their room, either as a draft pick or as an undrafted free agent. The 49ers are dealing with several issues inflicting their current running back room and considering the perceived strength of the class, it would appear that the team wants to reinforce the main way they attack opposing defenses.

Could Eagles Afford 24-Year-Old Ex-Giants Star?. The Philadelphia Eagles have lost some pieces but there's plenty of time to continue adding in free agency. Philadelphia specifically could use a boost in the pass rush after the losses of guys like Milton Williams, Josh Sweat, and Oren Burks. One guy who is available on the open market and stands out is former New York Giants Azeez Ojulari. This does seem to be on the lower end for what he can bring to the table, but it would be worth a call for Philadelphia.

New York Giants Get Above-average Value on These Two Free-agent Moves . The New York Giants' initial free agency haul saw the team address several glaring needs in the defensive secondary, the defensive line, the offensive line, and special teams, which was enough to earn the club a grade of B from Pro Football Focus. Of the seven deals, only two, those of cornerback Paulson Adebo and receiver Darius Slayton, were graded “above average,” the average based on what kind of contract PFF estimated for the player. Of Slayton, whose return to the Giants surprised many people, PFF had projected a 2-year, $36 million ($18 million APY) deal. Slayton's actual contract was for 3 years and $40 million ($13.3 million APY), which made it something of a bargain for a receiver who has posted at least 600 receiving yards in four of the past five seasons and has at least 17 explosive plays in five of the last six.

Bills predicted to draft 6-INT cornerback as much-needed secondary reinforcement. As we enter the second week of NFL free agency on Sunday, the Buffalo Bills have yet to adequately address one of their biggest needs of the offseason that comes on the defensive side of the ball. It remains to be seen if the Bills are even interested in keeping him after a 2024 season that saw the veteran post terrible coverage stats (completion rate of 72.9% and a passer rating of 122.0). Buffalo did add Dane Jackson in free agency, but depending on him to be a starter would be a huge mistake.

Chargers' Mike Williams makes 'terrible' admission after returning to LA. Wide receiver Mike Williams is back with the Los Angeles Chargers after a year away. The Chargers drafted Williams, the 6-foot-4 pass-catcher out of Clemson, with the seventh pick of the 2017 NFL Draft. Over the next seven seasons, the WR rewarded that move by putting up 309 catches for 4,806 receiving yards and 31 touchdowns. Williams initially signed with the New York Jets to play with Aaron Rodgers in 2024.

Najee Harris adds spice to Los Angeles Chargers vs. Steelers in 2025. The Los Angeles Chargers added Najee Harris in free agency this offseason, giving them a running back who has run for at least 1,000 yards in four consecutive seasons. In L.A., he will continue to be the featured back, and could get more touches considering Jim Harbaugh's affinity for running the ball. There are plenty of doubters who don't approve of the contract he signed but Harris will get his chance to silence those critics. During a recent media session, Harris praised the Chargers' facilities, and while doing so shaded the Steelers.

Consensus 2025 NFL mock draft has Chicago Bears leaning in obvious direction in first round. The Chicago Bears began the 2025 NFL offseason with an offensive line problem. The drastic shift in narrative is the result of GM Ryan Poles' incredible work to trade for guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson and sign center Drew Dalman to the second-richest contract at his position. With Darnell Wright returning as a cornerstone at right tackle, 80 percent of the Bears' offensive line looks, dare I say, fantastic.

Will 49ers Draft Arizona State RB Cam Skattebo on Day 2 of NFL Draft?. Suddenly, the 49ers need a running back. Now they have Isaac Guerendo who carried the ball 84 times last season, and Christian McCaffrey who carried it 50 times. Both McCaffrey and Guerendo have extensive injury histories. Which means the 49ers almost certainly will spend an early draft pick on a running back who can carry a heavy workload if necessary, preferably one who's a good receiver like McCaffrey and Guerendo.

NFL free agency: 20-INT safety with Mike Macdonald ties could be on Seahawks' radar. Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald is one of the best defensive minds in the league, and his influence can turn around players or even entire units around very quickly. Seattle's defense was a mess in 2023, particularly against the run, but became a very solid unit by the end of the year when Macdonald had really settled in. Yes, the unit was very different in terms of personnel, but Macdonald's coaching made an undeniable difference. For an example of the opposite effect, a solid player declining after Macdonald's departure, then there's free agent safety Marcus Williams, who was just released by the Baltimore Ravens this week.

The 2023 Los Angeles Rams did, too, and they produced a second-place finish, then ascended even further to last season's NFC West title.
