5/5/2008 A View of the Diamond, 5-5-08 - A VIEW OF THE DIAMOND BY ROB SHAW FANTASYFANATICS.COM ROYALS When the Royals were en vogue, no one discussed closer Joakim Soria that much, but 13 appearances into the season, he has yet to allow a run in 13 innings, while walking just one batter, and allowing three hits. Soria, who has 15 strikeouts is just 23 years old, and while Mike McDougal, Ambiorix Burgos, and other former Royals closers... Read more...

5/5/2008 Gagne Blows 5th Save - After releasing their former closer Derrick Turnbow earlier this weekend, the Brewers may be wise to release their current one after yet another blown save by Eric Gagne. The Brewers wannabe closer walked 3 and allowed 2 hits to lose a 2-run lead for staff ace Ben Sheets. Gagne's ERA ballons to 6.14 after his fifth blown save of the season. Though he'll likely get more time to correct himself, potential... Read more...

5/5/2008 Kazmir Returns - Scott Kazmir lasted just 4 innings in his first start of the season. The Rays ace showed his best stuff on occasion, striking out 5 batters, but he also walked three and surrendered 6 hits. Fantasy managers can now keep him in their starting rotation as long as he doesn't complain of elbow soreness later this week. He led the league with 239 strikeouts a season ago. Read more...

5/5/2008 Chipper Jones Hitting .425? - The argument for a Hall of Fame bid only gets louder for Braves legend Chipper Jones. Even in a season beset by physical ailments, Chipper Jones appears to be the best player on earth. His average is now at .425, after blasting his 9th homerun and driving home 5 RBI, which now accounts for 27 on the season. Through 113 at bats into the season, it appears that Chipper Jones may challenge Ted Williams... Read more...

5/5/2008 Andrew Miller Earns Second Win - The 6'6 southpaw phenom Andrew Miller finally offered a hint of his potential, with 6 solid innings on Sunday to even his record at 2-2. Miller was a large part of the deal that sent Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis to Detroit, so expect plenty of opportunities for the 22-year old southpaw to flourish. On Sunday, Miller hurled 6 innings of 2-run ball, to drop his ERA down to 7.96. He remains... Read more...
