| 9/04/25 | Why the Blue Jays continue to have faith in Jose Berrios despite his struggles. José Berríos is having a rough time lately. Tuesday night's implosion, when the wheels fell off after a second-inning throwing error by Isiah Kiner-Falefa — although back-to-back doubles had preceded it — led to him reducing an 8-1 Blue Jays' lead to 8-6, throwing 66 pitches in just two innings of work and leaving seven innings for the Jays' beleaguered bullpen to handle. Over his past 11 starts, the right-hander has posted a 5.47 ERA and a 1.462 WHIP, allowing 11 home runs and pitching just 52 2/3 innings. Incredibly, the Jays have gone 9-2 in those games, including Tuesday's 12-9 victory in Cincinnati. Source: https://www.therecord.com/sports/baseball/why-the-... |

The Chicago Cubs are now 4-6 for the month of August after losing to the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-1, in the first game of a three-game series at Rogers Centre in Toronto. Chicago's offensive malaise continued north of the border. The Blue Jays (70-50) remained one of baseball's best home teams and handed newly activated Cubs starter Javier Assad (0-1) his first loss in a year. The Toronto Blue Jays are a team that many people are going to be keeping a close eye on in the coming days.
