7/30/25 Pirates sending 3B Ke'Bryan Hayes to Reds for reliever Rogers, prospect Stafura, AP source says. The Pittsburgh Pirates are trading Gold Glove-winning third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes to Cincinnati for veteran reliever Taylor Rogers and shortstop prospect Sammy Stafura, according to a person with knowledge of the deal. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the trade was not official. The 28-year-old Hayes gives the Reds an elite defender at the hot corner who is under contract for the rest of the decade. The 20-year-old Stafura, a second-round pick by the Reds in 2023, is considered one of the better prospects in Cincinnati's system.

Tyler and Taylor Rogers will both be at Great American Ballpark on March 27 when the San Francisco Giants play the Cincinnati Reds on Opening Day. “In the moment we were shocked, but looking back at it, it's not overly shocking,” Tyler Rogers told this news organization. On Jan. 29, two weeks before pitchers and catchers reported to spring training, the Giants traded Taylor Rogers and cash to the Reds in exchange for minor-league right-hander Braxton Roxby, who hasn't pitched above Double-A. The twins first joined forces when Taylor signed a three-year, $33 million deal prior to the 2022 season, becoming the fourth set of twins to be teammates in league history.

The Cincinnati Reds are finalizing a trade with the San Francisco Giants for left-hander Taylor Rogers, FanSided and ESPN reported Wednesday. The Reds are sending minor league right-hander Braxton Roxby to the Giants in return, according to FanSided. Rogers, 34, is entering the final season of a three-year, $33 million deal he signed with the Giants ahead of the 2023 season. He's set to make $12 million in 2025. He went 1-4 with a 2.40 ERA in 64 relief appearances last season with the Giants. He is 28-34 with a 3.34 ERA and 83 saves in 509 career relief appearances with four teams, most notably the Minnesota Twins (2016-21). He made the American League All-Star team in 2021.
