2/14/25 Astros sign Guillorme to Minor League deal. The Houston Astros have signed veteran infielder Luis Guillorme to a minor league contract with an invite to Major League Spring Training. The announcement was made by Astros General Manager Dana Brown. Guillorme, 30, split his 2024 season between the Braves, Angels and Diamondbacks organizations, combining to appear in 79 games, while hitting .205 with nine doubles and 10 RBI. The versatile infielder played 55 games at second base, 15 at third base and five at shortstop in 2024. It was his sixth consecutive Major League season to appear in games at all three of those positions. The Houston Astros signed veteran infielder Luis Guillorme on Thursday to a minor league contract with an invitation to big league spring training. Guillorme, 30, could figure into the Astros' plans after free agent third baseman Alex Bregman reportedly signed a three-year contract with the Boston Red Sox after spending his nine-year career in Houston. The Astros traded for third baseman Isaac Paredes earlier this offseason in anticipation of not being able to re-sign Bregman, a two-time All-Star and Gold Glove winner last season. 2/12/25 Ex-Mets infielder lands with new team. The Houston Astros and Luis Guillorme have come to an agreement on a minor league deal, according to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. Guillorme, 30, started last season with the Braves and eventually spent time with the Angels and Diamondbacks before the year was over. The utility man was non-tendered by the Mets after the 2023 season, in which he hit 224 with a .615 OPS with one home run and nine RBI in 54 games.

8/20/24 Luis Guillorme signs with Diamondbacks. Utility infielder Luis Guillorme signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday as the team optioned Blaze Alexander back to the minors after a three-game run with the team. Arizona designated right-hander Gavin Hollowell for assignment to make room for Guillorme on the 40-man roster. Alexander spent all of July and the first two weeks of August in Triple-A after starting the season with the D-backs. Alexander is batting .247 for the season.

Deploying infielder Luis Guillorme as a relief pitcher was not the way the Angels wanted to return from the All-Star break. Max Schuemann hit a three-run homer, JJ Bleday and Shea Langeliers both added two-run shots, and the Oakland Athletics hammered the Angels, 13-3, on Friday night in the first game back from the break for both teams. 5/24/24 Braves Sign Yet Another Discarded Mets Position Player. The Atlanta Braves have had a thing for former New York Mets infielders. After signing Luis Guillorme to a one year deal for their main infield utility spot (and then trading him to the Los Angeles Angels), the Braves made a cash trade to acquire DFA'd Zack Short, who started the season with the Mets before making a brief cameo with the Boston Red Sox. The Braves today announced that they have signed former Mets infielder Joey Wendle, who was waived last week, to a major league contract.
