7/04/24 Blue Jays' Jose Cuas earns embarrassing place in MLB history with just 3 pitches. Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Jose Cuas made history Wednesday night. Facing the Houston Astros, Cuas took the mound in a 3-2 game in the seventh hoping to get out of the inning with the Blue Jays only down a run. The righty reliever was not up to the task, however and his ignominious outing ended after just three pitches. With those three pitches, Cuas hit two batters and became the first pitcher since 1901 to accomplish that feat in a single appearance, per Sportsnet Stats.

5/17/24 Chicago baseball report: Jose Cuas resets for Cubs, while Paul Skenes puts the ‘fast’ in fastball. The White Sox hope they’ve turned the corner after their historically bad 3-22 start and begin a six-game trip Friday at Yankee Stadium, while the Cubs try to get their offense back on track while dealing with more injuries following a 3-3 trip. 4/12/24 Chicago Cubs News: Keegan Thompson gets another chance in the Majors. With news on Thursday that the Chicago Cubs demoted Jose Cuas, there was a roster move needed before the team opened their weekend series against the Seattle Mariners on Friday night. The expectation was that it would be Hayden Wesneski or Keegan Thompson as the corresponding move to replace Cuas in the bullpen as both pitchers have experience in the Major League bullpen and are on the Cubs' 40-man roster. During his regular hit with "The Parkins and Spiegel Show" on 670 The Score, Cubs' manager Craig Counsell revealed that Thompson will be getting the promotion back to the Major League level.

8/22/23 Tigers even series with Cubs; Andy Ibanez has career night with two homers. The Tigers and Cubs played another round of rock-em, sock-em baseball Tuesday night. Oddly enough, the Tigers took two shots in the bottom of the eighth inning and ended up plating the insurance run, evening the series with an 8-6 win at Comerica Park. In a one-run game, Cubs reliever Jose Cuas hit two batters, including Kerry Carpenter with the bases loaded. The Tigers threw the big punches earlier.

7/28/23 Bobby Witt Jr. powers the Royals past the Twins, 8-5 to take series opener. Pull out the participation trophy, the Kansas City Royals avoided the losing streak this time! After dropping two of three to the Guardians earlier this week, they showed up with a strong showing tonight against the first-place Minnesota Twins. On a Friday night, heading into the final weekend before the August 1st trade deadline, it seemed like the Royals were happy to showcase some of their potential trade assets. Jose Cuas, Austin Cox, and Carlos Hernandez each pitched scoreless innings to lock down the win after Brady Singer spun a gem over five innings.

7/05/22 Is It Too Early to Draw a Conclusion on KC Royals Reliever Jose Cuas?. Anyone who's been keeping up with the Kansas City Royals over the past month or so is familiar with the story of Jose Cuas. A player who once (or twice) considered quitting the game of baseball is now at the big-league level, and it came after impressing in the minors to prove that his transformation from position player to pitcher was legit. In 321/3 innings with Double-A Northwest Arkansas in 2021, the 6-foot-3 righty spun a 1.95 ERA and recorded three saves in 22 games.
