Unfortunately for legendary quarterback and former Denver Broncos general manager John Elway, he was involved in a golf cart accident that left his friend on life support. TMZ Sports reports Elway was driving the vehicle. Law enforcement and other sources told the outlet that the Hall of Fame quarterback was on the golf cart on Saturday, April 26, 2025, when his business partner and former agent, Jeff Sperbeck, fell off the back while it was moving. 4/29/25 Broncos' Draft Class Given Curious Grade by NFL.com. The Denver Broncos have garnered mixed reviews on their 2025 draft haul, with the predominant feedback being that they 'reached' on too many picks. 'Reached,' of course, means the Broncos drafted a player far earlier than they were ranked by the media consensus. NFL.com's draft analyst Chad Reuter gave the Broncos an A for Day 1, a C+ for Day 2, and a B for Day 3.

4/29/25 Why the Broncos took Jahdae Barron in Round 1: 'Everything we're looking for in a player'. Jeff Legwold covers the Denver Broncos at ESPN. Jeff previously covered the Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills and Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans at previous stops prior to ESPN. ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- As the first round of 2025 NFL draft hurtled toward the Denver Broncos' pick at No. 20 Thursday night, the team's decision-makers -- owner/CEO Greg Penner, coach Sean Payton, general manager George Paton and others -- sat in a meeting room watching the gap separating Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron and the rest of their draft board grow bigger and bigger.

4/28/25 How Cardinals Added Beef in NFL Draft. The lone offensive rookie taken was sixth-round pick Hayden Conner, an offensive lineman out of Texas. Arizona entered this year's draft without owning the rights to their sixth-rounder, as they had traded it to the Denver Broncos at the 2024 deadline in exchange for pass rusher Baron Browning. The Cardinals flipped fifth-rounders with the Dallas Cowboys, and picked up their sixth, and Conner was the ultimate selection.

4/28/25 Broncos' Dre Greenlaw receives conflicting reports on concerning quad injury. Linebacker Dre Greenlaw does not have any All-Pro or Pro Bowl selections to his name. When the media and neutral fans talked about the San Francisco 49ers over the last five years, several players were often mentioned before him. The Denver Broncos free-agent acquisition continues to battle injuries. NBC Sports Bay Area reported over the weekend that Greenlaw suffered a torn quadriceps while working out, jeopardizing his status for the start of the 2024-25 NFL season.

4/27/25 Broncos' New Third-Round WR Adds Missing Elements to Offense. The Denver Broncos drafted Illinois wide receiver Pat Bryant in the third round over the weekend, and the move came as somewhat of a surprise to the fan base and media. There were more well-known names still on the board, and not just at wide receiver, which is why some people were taken aback by the Broncos' selection of Bryant. Should Broncos Country be excited or anxious? Patrick “Pat” Bryant was born on December 10, 2002, so he will turn 23 years old near the end of the 2025 season.

4/23/25 Broncos' Interest in Explosive Michigan TE Draws Insider Confirmation. Denver Broncos fans probably thought the talk of a “joker” tight end was over with the signing of Evan Engram to a two-year, $23 million contract earlier this offseason. The hopes of finding a 'joker' in the first round appeared to be dwindling regardless of Engram's arrival, with Penn State's Tyler Warren and Michigan's Colston Loveland being consistently mocked before the Broncos pick at 20. On the most recent episode of 9NEWS' Mike Klis' podcast, he restoked the 'joker' fire, hinting that the Broncos' desire to add a prominent pass-catching tight end in the first round is anything but satiated with the addition of the soon-to-be 31-year-old Engram.

4/22/25 Broncos Granted Roster Exception for International TE. The Denver Broncos were again awarded a roster exception for Australian-born tight end Thomas Yassmin, the team's delegate in the NFL International Player Pathway Program since 2024. The move was reported Monday via the league's transaction wire. A native of Sydney, Yassmin opted to pursue American football following a decorated rugby career at Scots College.

4/22/25 ESPN Guru Pushes Back on Trade-Up Rumors, Linking One RB to Broncos at 20. In the chess game of team-building, Denver Broncos GM George Paton has positioned himself nicely to force a checkmate. The arrival of veteran tight end Evan Engram removed the overriding need to fill that nagging roster hole in the 2025 NFL draft, offering further proof that free agency can prove handy, especially if used wisely. It's way beyond dispute that without quarterback Bo Nix charting a far brighter future ahead in Denver, high-profile guys like Engram would take their talent elsewhere. Therein lies the rub for Paton and head coach Sean Payton this coming Thursday in Green Bay: the dynamic presence of Nix now allows the Broncos to build the nest with some explosive weapons.
