Since being selected in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Alvin Kamara has rewritten the New Orleans Saints' record books and carved out a career as one of the league's most electrifying and versatile offensive weapons. The former Tennessee Volunteer has been a constant for New Orleans over the past seven seasons, earning five Pro Bowl selections (2017–2021), two All-Pro honors, and setting multiple franchise records along the way. Now, as Kamara enters his eighth NFL season and approaches age 30, the question shifts from what he's done to what's left in the tank. Alvin Kamara is still in town and now he will get to be a part of a Kellen Moore-led offense. Last year, Philadelphia Eagles superstar Saquon Barkley rushed for over 2,000 yards to go along with 33 receptions for 278 yards in the regular season. 6/26/25	Alvin Kamara To Broncos? NFL Writer Pitches Surprise Saints Blockbuster. Alvin Kamara may not have made a Pro Bowl since 2021, but he's still a very, very good football player. The New Orleans Saints' star running back turns 30 next month, and in just eight years in the league, he's racked up 11,541 scrimmage yards. Kamara is getting expensive, though, and he's not necessarily bringing the Saints much closer to a playoff berth than they were as a 5-12 team last season. He's a five-time Pro Bowler and had one of the best seasons of his career so far stats-wise in 2024, despite only playing 14 games. He racked up a career-high 950 rushing yards, six rushing touchdowns, 68 receptions, 543 receiving yards, and two receiving touchdowns. Kamara is dynamic and racked up 1,493 yards from scrimmage in total. Although this is the case, Kamara didn't land a spot on CBS Sports' Pete Prisco list of the top 100 players heading into the 2025 campaign. Eight running backs made the list, but Kamara was not one. Much has been said about guys like Alvin Kamara or Chris Olave, but flashy plays and big touchdowns aren't the only definition of a weapon. With two months and change before the regular season begins, the New Orleans Saints' roster is far from a finished project. Alvin Kamara is firmly entrenched as the starter, but behind him, the Saints have two recent draft picks in Kendre Miller and Devin Neal, and two veteran reclamation projects in Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Cam Akers. The New Orleans Saints have one of the best running backs in the National Football League in Alvin Kamara but it sounds like the franchise at least showed some level of interest in a fellow star this offseason. Reports have surfaced that the Houston Texans are expected to sign former Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb if all goes well with his visit to the franchise on Monday. Kamara is a dynamic player but it wouldn't hurt to add another star to pair with him to take the running back room to an even higher level.
