6/14/25 Saturday blues: Reds slam Jack Flaherty, KO Tigers with six-run fifth inning. DETROIT — Saturdays have not been kind to the Tigers. Plain and simple. The 11-1 thumping they took from the Reds at Comerica Park was their seventh straight Saturday loss. That's 27% of their losses. Go figure. “Really?” said Jake Rogers. “That's a stat for you. I wouldn't have even thought twice about that. Something about Saturdays, I guess. How are Sundays?” Related Articles Torres, Greene lead the Tigers to rainy 11-5 victory over the Reds Skubal throws 7 shutout innings, Meadows homers as Tigers beat Orioles 4-1 Westburg, Urias power Orioles to 10-1 win over Tigers 'I feel for Jackson': Tigers' Jobe out for season with elbow surgery Harris: Tigers preparing to be buyers at trade deadline;

5/28/25 Tigers' Jake Rogers focused on keeping wins coming, not his smaller role. Jake Rogers hasn't been Wally Pipp'd, although it might feel like it. Rogers, the Tigers' primary catcher down the stretch and into the postseason last year, made just his second start Wednesday since returning off the injured list May 20. “That player is playing incredible baseball,” Rogers said. Dingler entered Wednesday with a 1.4 WAR, second highest among American League catchers, has a plus-5 defensive runs saved and an OPS+ of 111.

5/20/25 Tigers cut veteran catcher as Jake Rogers returns from injured list. Veteran catcher Tomás Nido was designated for assignment by the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday. The move was the expected corresponding transaction for the return of catcher Jake Rogers, who was reinstated from the injured list and will start Tuesday's game in St. Louis . Nido will now either be traded or placed on outright waivers. If he goes unclaimed, he'll become a free agent. The Tigers would love to keep him as a depth option at Triple-A Toledo if they can. Nido was hitting .343 (12-for-35) as a backup to Dillon Dingler over the last six weeks. The 31-year-old signed with the Tigers last September and played in three games for Toledo at the end of the 2024 season. He wasn't eligible for the

4/06/25 Tigers duo needed only eye contact to catch White Sox runner snoozing. Sometimes, the most important communication on a baseball field doesn't require words. Detroit Tigers catcher Jake Rogers had a hunch he could catch White Sox baserunner Brooks Baldwin snoozing at first base. First baseman Spencer Torkelson thought so, too. Rogers and Tork locked eyes, and the play was on, without anyone else on the field knowing it.

1/02/25 Tigers add veteran catcher to bolster Triple-A depth. Serven, 29, has played in parts of three big-league seasons, including a brief stint with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2024.
