9/25/24 Dodgers change plans with Tony Gonsolin for final weekend. Tony Gonsolin made his long-awaited return to the mound earlier this month when he began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City. It was originally believed that Gonsolin wouldn't return to the Dodgers this season, but the team seems more open to the possibility because of their need for starters. While Gonsolin could potentially pitch for the Dodgers this year, Roberts said he won't be starting or appearing in any of the team's final three games against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. Roberts previously indicated that Gonsolin was a candidate to come off the 60-day injured list during the final weekend of the regular season.

9/24/24 Tony Gonsolin Potentially Re-Joining Dodgers As Starting Pitcher. Tony Gonsolin was expected to miss the entire 2024 season, but he has made significant progress that has opened the door for a return to the Los Angeles Dodgers this year. Gonsolin underwent Tommy John surgery on Sept. 1, 2023, and just more than one year later, he's already completed his third rehab start. With another successful outing, his next one could come with the Dodgers. “He's been good, so we just got to keep building him up,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said prior to the rehab start.

9/21/24 Dodgers' pitcher gets crucial injury update. Back in February, the Los Angeles Dodgers put RHP Tony Gonsolin on the 60-day injured list. Now on the cusp of the MLB playoffs, Gonsolin is one step closer to a return as he is scheduled to start for the Oklahoma City Baseball Club, the Dodgers'  Triple-A affiliate from the Pacific Coast League. Gonsolin could return as soon as next week if this rehab start goes well, according to Bill Plunkett, a Dodgers' beat writer from the Orange County Register.

9/17/24 Dodgers keeping door open to postseason role for Tony Gonsolin. The Dodgers are holding the door open to a potential postseason role for a player who is rehabbing from elbow surgery last September. Right-hander Tony Gonsolin has made two rehab starts with Triple-A Oklahoma City already and will make a third later this week. After that, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said “there could be a conversation about him joining us – which, for me, I think would be fantastic.” Roberts said Gonsolin is “still a longshot” to figure into the Dodgers' plans.

The 30-year-old underwent Tommy John surgery last September after pitching through elbow discomfort. “I think it's slightly open,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of Gonsolin potentially returning this year.

2/03/24 Dodgers Injury Update: Tony Gonsolin 'Taking It Slow' With Rehab From Tommy John Surgery. The 2023 season was one to forget for Tony Gonsolin as he spent a significant portion of it on the injured list and was less than 100% when on the mound. Gonsolin was originally slated to be in the Los Angeles Dodgers' Opening Day rotation, but sprained his left ankle in Spring Training and opened the year on the 15-day IL. The Dodgers first said Gonsolin was not recovering well between starts, but it was later revealed he was pitching through an elbow injury for roughly two months.

1/27/24 2023 Los Angeles Dodgers Player Reviews: Tony Gonsolin. After a strong 2022 season, the Los Angeles Dodgers had high expectations for Tony Gonsolin heading into 2023, but it proved to be a challenging year. Originally slated to be in the Opening Day rotation, Gonsolin sprained his left ankle in Spring Training and opened the year on the 15-day injured list. Upon his return, Gonsolin was effective, throwing 32.1 innings with a 1.95 ERA in May. However, things started to fall off hard after that. In June, Gonsolin had a 5.82 ERA in 21.2 innings, which was his lowest ERA in a month for the rest of the season.

1/15/24 2023 Los Angeles Dodgers Player Reviews: Michael Grove. Once it became apparent Tony Gonsolin would not be part of the Los Angeles Dodgers' Opening Day roster for the 2023 season, Michael Grove and Ryan Pepiot were left to compete for the fifth spot in the starting rotation. Both performed well throughout Spring Training but Pepiot demonstrated a bit more consistency that earned him the job.

11/13/23 2023 Dodgers in review: Tony Gonsolin. In a season where the Dodgers' rotation was mired by injuries and inconsistency, Tony Gonsolin exemplified the struggles they faced. Coming off of his first All-Star season in 2022, Gonsolin was slated to be in the middle of the rotation for the start of the season. Gonsolin was placed on the injured list to begin the season, making his season debut on April 26 against the Pittsburgh Pirates, the best team in the National League in the month of April. Gonsolin was limited to 3? scoreless innings on 65 pitches, allowing just two hits while only striking out a single hitter and walking three.

9/18/23 Dave Roberts says Dodgers' postseason rotation is 'becoming pretty clear'. You want spots on a postseason roster, by any reasonable measure, to be earned and not given. But with Tony Gonsolin out for the year and Julio Urias on administrative leave as the MLB investigates allegations of domestic violence, the other potential starters in the Dodgers' playoff arsenal might be a toss-a-dart-at-a-board situation.

9/04/23 Dodgers vs. Marlins series info, TV times & pitching matchups. For the second time in three weeks, the Dodgers and Marlins will meet for three games. In their first matchup, the series finale was rescheduled into a doubleheader due to a tropical storm , only it was in Los Angeles and not Miami. Since loanDepot Park has a roof, no such shenanigans are expected for this three-game series in Florida. The Dodgers won two of three games over the Marlins in Los Angeles, dropping Tony Gonsolin's last stand in the series opener before sweeping a Mookie Betts-infused doubleheader the next day. The Marlins (70-67) remain in a dogfight for a playoff berth, entering Monday in a virtual four-way tie for the final wild card spot with the D-backs (70-67), Giants (70-67),

9/01/23 Dodgers News: Tony Gonsolin Has Tommy John Surgery. Already ruled out from pitching again for the Los Angeles Dodgers this season, Tony Gonsolin underwent Tommy John surgery on Friday. Dr. Neal ElAttrache performed the right elbow reconstruction that is likely to keep Gonsolin out all of 2024 as well. The Dodgers placed Gonsolin on the 15-day injured list August 19, which ended a six-week stretch of pitching through elbow discomfort. “We got some imaging done in June, so I knew the damage that was in there at that time,” Gonsolin revealed last month.

8/31/23 Dodgers notes: Tony Gonsolin, Mookie Betts, Clayton Kershaw. The Dodgers faced a major blow to their rotation when they placed Tony Gonsolin on the injured list two weeks ago, rendering him inactive for the remainder of the season. On Monday, the team announced that Gonsolin will undergo Tommy John surgery on Friday, and will likely miss the 2024 season as well. Gonsolin on Tuesday explained how he pitched with a torn UCL for a span of two months, stating that he felt he had to “out of necessity” for a depleted rotation that saw Clayton Kershaw and Julio Urías land on the IL.

8/30/23 Dodgers Injury Updates: J.D. Martinez, Shelby Miller, Blake Treinen, Daniel Hudson & Jonny DeLuca. The Los Angeles Dodgers lost Tony Gonsolin for the remainder of the season and likely all of 2024 as well due to his forthcoming Tommy John surgery, but they remain hopeful to welcome back the likes of Walker Buehler, J.D. Martinez and Shelby Miller at some point down the stretch. Blake Treinen is in that category as well, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts recently said the veteran reliever faces long odds of pitching for the team despite moving his rehab assignment to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

8/30/23 Dodgers’ Tony Gonsolin: ‘I kind of just pitched out of necessity’ with torn UCL. Gonsolin had been pitching with a UCL tear for more than two months, but he says even some teammates who joined the team after the diagnosis didn’t know.
