12/12/24 Who is newest Commander, K.J. Osborn?. The Commanders, having lost their third and fourth leading receivers to injury, signed receiver K.J. Osborn on Wednesday. Osborn was available because the New England Patriots released him just one day earlier. After playing his first four NFL seasons with the Minn

12/11/24 Jerod Mayo explains why Patriots cut WR. It took until December, but the Patriots ultimately parted ways with K.J. Osborn. The veteran wideout hadn't caught a pass since the London game in October and had been a healthy scratch in four of New England's last five games. When asked if he wanted to be traded ahead of last month's deadline, Osborn called the question an “alley oop.” The Patriots reportedly took calls on Osborn, but never dealt him, and then kept him mostly sidelined.

12/10/24 Sources: Pats waive Osborn in mutual decision. The New England Patriots are waiving veteran wide receiver K.J. Osborn in a mutual decision after signing a one-year, $4 million deal in the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.

12/10/24 Patriots Release Former Vikings WR. Coming into the 2024 NFL season, the New England Patriots were expecting a big year from wide receiver K.J. Osborn. Unfortunately, he has been unable to make any kind of sizable impact with the Patriots. According to a report from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, New England has waived Osborn. At 27 years old, Osborn should not have difficulty finding another job this season.

12/09/24 Breer: Why Kraft is unlikely to part with Mayo or Wolf in 2025. Jerod Mayo has taken plenty of heat amid the New England Patriots' 3-10 start. After all, Wolf and the front office are responsible for a roster that lacks talent at crucial positions like wide receiver and offensive line. Free-agent acquisitions K.J. Osborn (seven receptions in seven games played) and Chukwuma Okorafor (left the team after Week 2) have been massive failures, while 2024 draft picks like wide receivers Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker have given the team very little production (12 receptions for 87 yards combined).

11/13/24 Analyst Questions Patriots' Decision With Frustrated WR. New England Patriots wide receiver K.J. Osborn hasn't been shy about expressing his frustrations this season, as the 2024 campaign has certainly been a disappointing one for him. Many felt the Patriots would trade the veteran pass-catcher at the trade deadline, but New England decided to hold on to him. There were also reports that the Pats could release Osborn, but he remains on the roster heading into Week 11. In fact, he played more snaps than DeMario Douglas and Ja'Lynn Polk during the Patriots' win over the Chicago Bears this past Sunday, and Mike Giardi of The Boston Sports Journal is a bit perplexed.

11/09/24 Patriots' Overlooked WR Could Be Massive Sleeper. The New England Patriots are absolutely starving for offensive weapons, and no matter how they try out at wide receiver, nothing seems to work out. Free-agent signing K.J. Osborn has been a massive disappointment. Rookies Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker have been non-existent. Kendrick Bourne has been a relative non-factor since returning from his torn ACL earlier this season.

11/06/24 Patriots Rumors: Belief Is Veteran Will 'Get His Wish' With Release. K.J. Osborn was not traded before Tuesday's deadline, but that doesn't mean he'll remain with the New England Patriots. The Patriots reportedly received calls on the veteran wideout, who's playing on an expiring contract. Boston Sports Journal's Mike Giardi on Wednesday dropped an interesting nugget relating to Osborn.

11/05/24 Patriots Trying Hard for WR Trade. The 2024 NFL trade deadline is less than an hour and a half away and it sure sounds like the New England Patriots are trying to make a move. Many believe that they will trade at least one of the wide receivers currently on their roster. Arguably the most available name on the roster is K.J. Osborn. As reported by Chad Graff of The Athletic, the Patriots have made it "abundantly clear" that Osborn is available for trade before the deadline.

11/05/24 Live updates: Latest Patriots news, rumors on NFL trade deadline day. Will the New England Patriots buy or sell -- or both, or neither? At 2-7, the Patriots are an obvious candidate to sell, with a few of their veteran wide receivers (K.J. Osborn and Tyquan Thornton) and cornerbacks (Jonathan Jones and Marco Wilson) reportedly drawing interest on the trade market.

11/04/24 Curran: Patriots are in disarray, with one all-important exception. The Patriots are just a few plays from 5-4. Two of their most prominent free agent imports on offense were Chukwuma Okorafor and K.J. Osborn. Drafted wideouts Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker are on the Dalton Keene-Devin Asiasi track. The 49ers, after losing to the Rams, blasted the Pats.

11/04/24 Patriots Should Be NFL Trade Deadline Buyers (Even If They Sell). The Patriots should be one of the NFL's busiest teams at Tuesday's trade deadline, and not only that, they should be buyers. New England's loss Sunday in Nashville has them in the driver's seat for the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. There's no need for K.J. Osborn to be in New England come Wednesday morning. Jonathan Jones might not be long for Foxboro, Mass., either.

11/03/24 Inactives Analysis: Patriots S Kyle Dugger, WRs K.J. Osborn and Tyquan Thornton Inactive for Sunday's Game vs. Titans . New England's game-day inactives are FS Kyle Dugger (ankle), WR K.J. Osborn, WR Tyquan Thornton, DT Eric Johnson, and QB Joe Milton is the emergency third quarterback. After being removed from the injury report, rookie QB Drake Maye is expected to start, with veteran Jacoby Brissett backing him up on Sunday. At wide receiver, trade candidates K.J. Osborn and Tyquan Thornton are inactive with the trade deadline looming.

10/27/24 Three Logical Trades Patriots Can Make. The New England Patriots are gearing up for their Week 8 matchup against the New York Jets today. However, many fans are just as interested to see what the team does on the trade market. It is widely expected that the Patriots will end up being a seller before November 5th. They have quite a few talented players that could be moved for valuable draft capital. That being said, no one knows which of those players will actually get moved and where they could get moved to. With all of the questions swirling around about what New England might do, let's take a look at three trades that could make sense for the Patriots. K.J. Osborn to the Pittsburgh Steelers First up on the list is sending Osborn

10/25/24 Two Patriots WRs Named Possible Trade Candidates. With the 2024 NFL trade deadline coming up quickly on November 5th, the New England Patriots are a team that could look to make a move or two. The Patriots will have to make some difficult decisions. At the wide receiver position, there are a couple of players that could end up being shown the door. NFL.com analyst Kevin Patra believes that New England could consider trading both K.J. Osborn and Kendrick Bourne.

10/24/24 Patriots WR Addresses Trade Rumors. The New England Patriots are widely expected to make some moves before the NFL trade deadline, and one of their prime trade candidates is wide receiver K.J. Osborn. Osborn is certainly not the only Patriots wide out who could be dealt, as Kendrick Bourne and Tyquan Thornton have also been tossed around in trade speculation. "That's like an alley-oop," Osborn told reporters via NBC Sports Boston.

10/23/24 Does Osborn want to be with Patriots? WR addresses trade rumors. K.J. Osborn's career with the New England Patriots has not gotten off to a great start. The Patriots signed Osborn in NFL free agency back in March. Coming to New England was a chance for a larger role. Osborn has played in five of the Patriots' seven games this season.

10/21/24 Patriots Wideout Seems Unhappy In New England After Social Media Post. Patriots wide receiver K.J. Osborn seems to be unhappy in New England. Osborn, who signed a one-year deal with the Patriots during the offseason, confirmed as much with his social media activity after New England's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The 27-year-old wideout reposted a screenshot of a text message from Brandon Abdala, who presents himself on social media as a sports agent but is not Osborn's agent, per Boston Sports Journal's Mike Giardi.

9/14/24 Patriots receiver earns Week 2 Community MVP award by NFLPA. New England Patriots wide receiver K.J. Osborn was named the NFLPA Community MVP for his work with the Yawkey Boys & Girls Club in Roxbury, Massachusetts. According to KPRC 2's Aaron Wilson, Osborn gave away free sneakers at his “Kicks for Kids” event.
