9/03/25 Rangers' franchise record ends with ugly Jake Burger error. The Texas Rangers had a significant streak snapped in disappointing fashion Wednesday, as Jake Burger's error at first base ended a franchise-record run of 19 consecutive games without a defensive miscue. The blunder not only halted the defensive record for the Rangers, but also directly led to an unearned run in a 2-0 shutout loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks—an outcome that could impact the Rangers' tight playoff chase. The Talkin' Baseball podcast posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), sharing the clip of Burger's mistake that ended the streak and stunned fans in real time, with credit to USA Today's Bob Nightengale for the stat.

Burger, who had been on the IL for a sprained wrist since Aug. 18, had been hot for the 10 days he was healthy during the month. The Rangers have gotten more than adequate production at first base from Ezequiel Duran and Rowdy Tellez during Burger's absence.

8/18/25 Rangers Ace, Explosive Offense Prevents Pivotal Weekend Sweep in Finale. The Texas Rangers went into the belly of the beast that is Rogers Centre to take on the Toronto Blue Jays this past weekend, a venue where they are the best in baseball when on their home field. The first two games were disastrous performances by the Rangers' pitching staff as a whole, but they bounced back from a brutal 14-2 loss in Game 2 to prevent a sweep with a 10-4 victory in the finale. The Rangers also had a spark of life from their offense, which is what they have desperately neede. The only real downside of the game was that Jake Burger exited the contest early with discomfort in his wrist, and he will now miss at least two to three days as he gets it further evaluated back in Arlington.
