Bailey Ober continued his recent success versus Kansas City by allowing one run over 5 1/3 innings while Byron Buxton clubbed his 30th homer and Kody Clemens also went deep in the visiting Minnesota Twins' 5-1 win over the Royals on Sunday. Ober (5-7) struck out six while yielding just four hits and one walk to earn his first win since May 3 and help the Twins (63-80) snap a six-game skid. The right-hander has allowed four earned runs in 31 innings over his last five starts against the Royals (73-70), who had won three straight.

Bailey Ober admits he was a little surprised when Rocco Baldelli told him, after five innings and only 69 pitches, that his outing was over on Monday afternoon. 7/17/25 Pair of Minnesota Twins Key Contributors Set to Begin Minor League Rehab Assignments. According to a report from Declan Goff of SKOR North, the Minnesota Twins are close to getting back key contributors Bailey Ober and Luke Keaschall. Both players will begin rehab assignments on Friday, and both will be at Triple-A St. Paul. Ober has been out with a left hip impingement while Keaschall has been sidelined with a broken bone in his arm. Ober, 30, has made 17 starts this season, going 4-6 with a 5.28 ERA.

After another disastrous start, it's becoming almost impossible to justify continuing to send him to the mound every fifth game. Ober was tagged for seven earned runs on four home runs and 11 total hits in Saturday afternoon's 10-5 loss to the Tigers in Detroit. It was the third time in his last four starts that he's given up seven earned runs.
