9/09/25 Last Night in Baseball: There Has Not Been a No-Hitter in 2025... Yet. Two more near no-hitters, the Padres walk it off, Zach Neto makes a ridiculous catch you have to see, and more from Monday's MLB action.

9/07/25 Angels give slumping shortstop Zach Neto a break. Neto is in a 3-for-34 slump, so the Angels give him a day out of the starting lineup. It is the first time that Neto starts a game on the bench since June 29.

9/05/25 Angels' Core Roster Named Among Worst in MLB. ESPN's Kiley McDaniel ranked the Los Angeles Angels' core roster 28th in MLB, only ahead of the Chicago White Sox and Colorado Rockies. McDaniel didn't place any Halos in his "elite" tier of players, in which he placed perennial All-Stars with MVP chances, and only placed shortstop Zach Neto and starting pitcher Jose Soriano in his "plus" tier, which is reserved for players he describes as "3-5ish WAR types." "Soriano, [Reid] Detmers, [Tyler] Bremner, [George] Klassen, and [Caden] Dana are five solid pitchers to build around, along with veteran [Yusei] Kikuchi, but it's unlikely all of them pitch on the same staff," wrote McDaniel. Taylor Ward's under contract through next year so he falls off the list.

9/01/25 Short-handed Angels drop finale of 4-game series in Houston. The Angels were having a good day for about 10 minutes. Zach Neto and Jo Adell hit a pair of home runs in a span of four batters in the fourth inning, giving the Angels a brief one-run lead. Everything that happened before and after that was bad, as the Angels lost to the Houston Astros, 8-3, on Monday afternoon. The Angels (64-73) got out of Houston with a split in the four-game series, which was an accomplishment considering that they scored 10 runs in the series.

8/30/25 Angels rally in 9th to stun Astros, snap 3-game skid. Angels shortstop Zach Neto, center, is checked out after reaching for a line drive hit by Houston Astros' Yordan Alvarez during the first inning of a baseball game in Houston, Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025. HOUSTON — The bottom of the order came to the rescue for the Angels. After getting four hits in the first 17 innings of the series against the Houston Astros, the Angels strung together four straight hits to spark a three-run rally in the ninth inning of a 4-1 victory over the Astros on Saturday night.

8/25/25 Angels Notes: 3 Halos Placed on IL, Zach Neto Prediction, Manager Seems to Concede Playoff Hopes Gone. The Los Angeles Angels lost their final game of a three-game series against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday, suffering a series sweep against the Northsiders. Ahead of the final game of the series, the Halos placed three players on the injured list. Angels interim manager Ray Montgomery predicted shortstop Zach Neto would get even better than he already is, as he is far surpassing his breakout season in 2024. Neto has been a bright spot at the top of the lineup, and achieved his second consecutive 20/20 season last week.

8/24/25 Angels' Zach Neto Predicted to Get Even Better By Manager. Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto is already a superstar at the Big A, and interim manager Ray Montgomery believes he's only going to improve as time goes on. Neto is having a fantastic season, batting .267 with an .804 OPS through 108 games. “This is a pretty good level if it stayed right here for the rest of his career,” Montgomery said. The 24-year-old shot up through the minor leagues after the Halos drafted him in 2022, making his debut and playing 84 games in 2023.

8/23/25 Zach Neto Provides Unfortunate Update on Potential Contract Extension With Angels. Los Angeles Angels star shortstop Zach Neto has proven his value over the last two seasons, but lacks a long-term deal to match it. Neto is under team control through the 2029 campaign, but locking down the still up-and-coming star beyond his arbitration years is something that can ease the uncertain future of the Halos for a passionate fanbase. Last month, Neto became the 12th shortstop in MLB history to have multiple 20 home run, 20 stolen base seasons, and just the fourth to do it by 24 years old. Unfortunately, according to the Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher, Neto claimed that there are no talks about an upcoming extension.

8/21/25 Angels Notes: Zach Neto Injured, Kenley Jansen Talks Injury, Halos Make Roster Move. The Los Angeles Angels beat the Cincinnati Reds, 2-1, on Wednesday and improved to 61-66 on the year. Unfortunately, star shortstop Zach Neto was pulled to start the sixth inning after he was hit on his wrist by a changeup from Reds right-hander Nick Martinez earlier in the game. Neto's MRI results came back negative, and he said he hopes to return for Friday's series opener against the Chicago Cubs. In other news, All-Star closer Kenley Jansen revealed that he is dealing with an injury, and was unavailable to close out Wednesday's game.

8/18/25 3 extensions Angels need to get done this off-season. 3 extensions that the LA Angels need to get done this offseason By Vincent Page | Share on Facebook Share on X Copy Article Pittsburgh Pirates v Los Angeles Angels | John McCoy/GettyImages Share on Facebook Share on X Share on Reddit Copy Article While the Angels are focused on continuing to fight for a Wild Card spot this season, Perry Minasian is surely looking at what he can do this offseason to improve in 2026 in order to finally end this decade-long postseason drought in Anaheim. Sometimes, the best thing to do is look inward, and Minasian should do so by extending these three Halos as soon as possible.
