The Giants made a slew of roster moves prior to Thursday afternoon's series finale at Petco Park, the headliner being the team's decision to select the contract of right-hander Joel Peguero and grant him his first major-league call-up. Additionally, the team optioned right-hander Kai-Wei Teng and outfielder Grant McCray to Triple-A Sacramento; recalled outfielder Luis Matos from Sacramento; and transferred Erik Miller to the 60-day injured list.

8/14/25 Kurtenbach: The SF Giants season is (unofficially) over. Thank goodness. The Giants didn't have the decency to maintain relevance until September. Let Wednesday stand as the unofficial end of San Francisco's season — the day the last bit of hope was extinguished. You almost feel indebted to the Giants for being expedient about it. Starter Kai-Wei Teng was bashed for seven runs in a second inning Padres onslaught that started with a ball bouncing off of second base with the bases loaded and was capped by left fielder Helios Ramos spiking a throw into the outfield grass.

8/09/25 On Taiwanese Father's Day, SF Giants' Kai-Wei Teng dedicates first win to dad. Whether it was a four-seam fastball that sat in the low-90s, a slider a tick slower,  or a changeup, sinker or curveball of varying speeds, Kai-Wei Teng put each pitch exactly where he wanted on a relatively warm Friday night at Oracle Park. While using each pitch to fill the zone with strikes in front of 38,679 fans, the 26-year-old thought of just one man on Taiwan's Father's Day. “I want to thank my dad for supporting me over the past 18 years in anything,” Teng said through interpreter Andy Lin, adding a personal message to his father, who he believed had watched the game on TV at home in Taiwan. Unleashing his five-pitch arsenal, Teng overwhelmed Nationals hitters to the tune of five scoreless innings of relief in San Francisco's 5-0 victory over the Nationals.

8/02/25 Kai-Wei Teng, Giants bullpen brace for rematch vs. Mets. Two teams whose new-look bullpens underwent a trial by fire in the series opener will get a rematch on Saturday afternoon when San Francisco Giants vie for a second consecutive road win over the New York Mets. Promoted Friday in the wake of the Giants having traded two pitchers at the deadline, Kai-Wei Teng will make his big-league season debut Saturday against fellow Asia native Kodai Senga (7-3, 2.00 ERA) in a matchup of right-handers. After both teams reshaped their bullpens with trades -- San Francisco mainly subtracting, New York primarily adding -- the Giants and Mets each put four relievers to work Friday, including one pitcher each who wasn't with the team when the clubs met last week in San Francisco.

2/14/24 SF Giants spring training injury updates: 2 young pitchers sidelined before camp begins. The plan for Reggie Crawford, the two-way player the Giants selected with the first pick of the 2022 draft, was to set aside the bat and focus the bulk of his work this spring on his pitching development. “It's unfortunate it happened before we even started up,” manager Bob Melvin said. While Crawford, who hasn't played above Single-A, wasn't being evaluated for the Opening Day roster, the Giants lost the opportunity to see another pitcher who could help them this season. Right-hander Kai-Wei Teng will be shut down for the next two to three weeks, according to the club, after straining his oblique during a pre-spring bullpen.
