9/02/25 Royals Predicted To Retain Ex-Giants Standout After Post-Trade Impact. Yastrzemski came to the Royals on July 31 after spending the first 6 1/2 years of his major league career with the San Francisco Giants. Small sample sizes can be dangerous, but everything Yastrzemski is showing suggests he could be a fit in Kansas City beyond this season. Will the Royals put in an effort to make sure that happens? On Tuesday, Tim Kelly of Bleacher Report predicted that Yastrzemski would remain with the Royals after hitting free agency this winter, despite the presence of rookie Jac Caglianone at the veteran Yastrzemski's current position of right field.

8/24/25 Top draft pick Caglione prepares for big league outfield role. The Kansas City Royals are chasing a playoff berth and could soon get a boost from their top draft pick a year ago, Jac Caglianone. Caglianone, known as “Jac Cags,” has been working on the transition this summer with the Royals' Triple-A team, the Omaha Storm Chasers. A natural infielder and pitcher, he has spent the last several weeks learning the intricacies of the outfield with the help of Royals coach Rusty Kuntz, a former big leaguer who played in the 1980s.

8/19/25 Royals Facing Difficult Jac Caglianone Decision Amid Hot Streak. When the Kansas City Royals first called up power-hitting rookie outfielder Jac Caglianone, they were desperate for offense. Unfortunately, Caglianone wasn't able to give the Royals the power boost they needed, slumping to a .485 OPS in 41 games before landing on the injured list with a hamstring strain. Not so fast, as MLB.com reporter Anne Rogers recently explained. "The evaluation process for when (Caglianone is) ready will be similar to how the Royals determined whether he was ready the first time with the added knowledge of what he struggled with in the big leagues between June and July," wrote Rogers.

8/13/25 Royals' Latest Farm System Ranking Suggests Uncertain Future In KC. It's hard to know what kind of stock to put into rankings of Major League Baseball farm systems, especially for a team like the Kansas City Royals. Ultimately, rankings don't matter once a team builds its roster for the year, especially if rookies come up and perform above expectations. Plus, a low ranking could be an indicator that a team traded away some prospects to stack their current roster. The Royals farm system's biggest story this year was the fast promotion of slugger Jac Caglianone to the major league level, but there's an intriguing mix of talent behind him.

The Kansas City Royals are hoping the future is brighter than their 2025 season has been so far, and their top prospects are going to play a major role in making that happen. Blake Mitchell, the 20-year-old former first-round pick, came in at No. 49.

7/30/25 Royals Minor-Leaguer One-Ups Mike Trout With 501-Foot Home Run. Hitting a baseball 450 feet is a gift possessed only by a select few players. When you get to 500 feet, you're approaching rare air. The Kansas City Royals have one player at the major league level who can probably do it under the right conditions - rookie right fielder Jac Caglianone. Gavin Cross, an outfielder who was the Royals' 2022 first-round pick (ninth overall), hit a home run against the Corpus Christi Hooks in Double-A that traveled an estimated 501 feet.

7/22/25 Watch: Chicago Cubs fan falls off wall while trying to catch home run ball. The ball directly went towards the left side of the field in a deep knuckle curve, which left the onlookers stunned for a moment. The ball went right towards the netted basket on the ivy-coloured wall, which gave hope to the Kansas City Royals. After Jac's shot, a fan sitting to watch the match immediately leaned towards the wall to catch the prized ball. The note read, “Jac Caglianone sends one the other way into the basket.”

7/09/25 Royals' Jac Caglianone Has 3-Word Response To First Homer In Kansas City. Kansas City Royals rookie Jac Caglianone had two home runs in a single game on the road against the Texas Rangers, but in 13 games at Kauffman Stadium, he still hadn't gone deep. Caglianone put an A swing on a Mitch Keller change-up and sent it hurtling toward the right-center field bleachers at a blistering 114.1 miles per hour. It got the Royals on the board in the second inning of their game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, which they'd go on to win 4-3 in walk-off fashion. It was clear Caglianone had been pressing at the plate--how could he not be?

7/07/25 Kansas City Royals Have a Good Problem: A Pair of Highly Ranked Catching Prospects. The Royals assigned Mitchell to the High-A Quad Cities River Bandits, meaning he's recovered from a broken right hamate bone suffered in spring training. Once Jac Caglianone amasses enough service time in the major leagues to fall off the list, Mitchell will be the Royals' No. 1 prospect.

6/23/25 Padres All-Star Jackson Merrill Gives 'Props' To Royals' Jac Caglianone. Jac Caglianone is brand-new to playing the outfield, but you would never have known it if you started watching him on Sunday. In the Kansas City Royals' 3-2 loss to the San Diego Padres, Caglianone robbed star Padres outfielder Jackson Merrill of a would-be go-ahead home run. Caglianone ranged back to the right-center field gap at Petco Park and used his 6-foot-5 frame to extend half of his right arm over the wall. To go from no experience to robbing a home run from an All-Star within three weeks of your major league debut deserves endless praise.
