7/02/25 The Land of Whatever. An Arizona Diamondbacks fan got a little too overzealous Monday night, taking a ball away from D-Backs outfielder Tim Tawa on a ball hit by San Francisco's Christian Koss. Photo courtesy Yahoo!. As replays would show, Tawa would not have been able to make the catch, for one, and, for two, had the fan not interfered, the ball would've stopped short of the yellow home run line. With this logic, the MLB replay center in New York ruled it a ground rule double for Koss. Arizona went on to win the game, 4-2. It's one thing to try to get a ball as a momento from the game. However, this anonymous geek has done it five times now in four seasons (2022-5). This time, he was tossed from Chase Field, and

5/22/25 Diamondbacks' Tim Tawa playing fearless outfield. Getting quality jumps and running efficient routes is a necessity to man the outfield, but so is not being afraid, as Arizona Diamondbacks first base/outfielders coach Dave McKay put it. D-backs rookie utility man Tim Tawa has looked plenty comfortable stepping into that arena over the past couple weeks, as his opportunities to play have shifted from second base to center field. There's always a risk in moving a young player around defensively as they adapt to a new level, but Tawa has done this for a long time. “I was telling (manager Torey Lovullo) — who was concerned will he be able to pick us up in the outfield — I said he'll be a better outfielder than infielder,” McKay told Arizona Sports.

5/17/25 Diamondbacks Tim Tawa Has Smooth Transition to Center Field. Arizona Diamondbacks super utility player Tim Tawa is no stranger to outfield play, and center field in particular. In fact he always saw himself as an outfielder growing up. When I was going into college I thought I was going to be an outfielder. When I went to high school when I was younger in seventh and eighth grade I thought I was going to be an outfielder too.

4/22/25 Tim Tawa's journey from West Linn unfolds with Diamondbacks. Quiet settles into the Arizona Diamondbacks clubhouse three hours before first pitch. Second baseman Tim Tawa is in a reflective mood, thinking back on high school days in West Linn, Oregon. Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard, Denver Broncos offensive lineman Alex Forsyth, ASU quarterback Sam Leavitt and now Tawa have put the city on the map as the list grows.

4/06/25 Former Soddie Tim Tawa makes major league debut with Diamondbacks. With the new season underway for the Sod Poodles, a familiar face in the city of Amarillo is making his debut in the major leagues, Tim Tawa. After three seasons as a Soddie and more recently with the Reno Aces, Tawa suited up for the Diamondbacks in their road game against the Washington Nationals, putting his name on a long list of former Amarillo players to reach the majors.
