Ex-Dodgers All-Star Could Be Option For Yankees To Add Depth To Starting Rotation Could the Yankees sign the six-time All-Star? Author: Patrick McAvoy Publish date: Mar 7, 2024 12:59 PM EST In this story: New York Yankees Los Angeles Dodgers Zack Greinke The New York Yankees could use one more starting pitcher to add depth to the rotation. New York is considered one of the top teams in the American League but still has been linked to multiple available players. The Yankees' starting rotation clearly is the club's biggest weakness at this point because they are relying heavily on players having bounce-back seasons in 2024. 9/28/23 | A salute to Zack Greinke. Zack Greinke made me love baseball. For pretty much my entire life to that point, the Royals were among the very worst sports franchises in North America. Since the turn of the century, the Royals had compiled a win-loss record of 607-851. For me, a kid from the Northland, there wasn't much to take pride in for these Royals. 9/15/23 | Royals vs. Astros Friday game thread. The Royals take on the Houston Astros for the first time this year, and while they are engaged in a tight race for first place in the West, the Royals are battling the A's for the worst record in baseball. Same, but different. Zack Greinke takes on his former team tonight, still looking for his second win of the year. He is still 34 strikeouts short of 3,000 for his career, and it is looking unlikely he reaches that mark this year. Here's how we're taking the field behind Zack Greinke to open the series vs. the Astros. #WelcomeToTheCity pic.twitter.com/VpC2JNgDtT — Kansas City Royals (@Royals) September 15, 2023 Houston starts Cristian Javier, who lasted just four innings his last time out. After a rare relief appearance, Kansas City right-hander Zack Greinke will return to a more familiar role on Monday night when the Royals begin a three-game series against the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates.
