KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Royals legend Eric Hosmer threw out the first pitch before Game 3 of the American League Division Series. Hosmer, a key member of the 2014 and 2015 teams that appeared in (and won one) World Series, returned to Kauffman Stadium. Advertisement He was part of two iconic moments in the 2015 postseason. He drove home Lorenzo Cain in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series, which turned out to be the series-winning run against the Toronto Blue Jays. 5/03/23	Chicago Cubs have no reason to keep Edwin Rios in the Majors. It's clear he's ready for the big leagues and the team isn't running their best 26 guys unless they have him in tow. Considering he's a first baseman, it makes sense then that fans would turn their ire to veteran Eric Hosmer as the guy to cut bait with in order to bring Mervis up. Whatever you feel about that decision, there's actually an easier solution that would allow Mervis to come up and Hosmer to stay - just send Edwin Rios to Iowa.
