5/08/25 Chris Sale Reveals Which Red Sox Teammate Sparked 2018 World Series Speech. The 2018 Boston Red Sox didn't spend much time fighting from behind. The Red Sox were heavy favorites, which made for a surprise when they played back on their heels in Game 4 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Boston trailed into the late innings with the growing threat of the series entering a 2-2 tie. Chris Sale gave a fateful speech that shifted the tides of Game 4, though that came with an urge from a fellow Red Sox pitcher.

5/07/25 Chris Sale Racks Up Multiple Career Milestones In Braves Win. Chris Sale had another dominant night for the Atlanta Braves, continuing his recent resurgence. Of the six retired hurlers with more such efforts than Sale, five are Hall-of-Famers, including Nolan Ryan (215), Randy Johnson (212), Pedro Martínez (108) and Sandy Koufax (97). In the seventh inning of action, he recorded his 2,000th career inning pitched.

5/02/25 Braves blockbuster trade idea lands $56 million Cy Young winner from NL East rival. The Braves will be back in the playoff race before long, if they aren't already. Winners of 14 of their last 19, the Braves are technically just 2 1/2 games out of postseason position entering play on Friday. The Braves' rotation has been a surprising mess to start the year. Chris Sale hasn't reclaimed his Cy Young form, Reynaldo López and Spencer Strider are hurt, and the combination of Bryce Elder and A.J. Smith-Shawver has been subpar.

5/02/25 Rockies aim to extend rare winning streak in rematch vs. Giants. Finally, the Colorado Rockies have a good streak to talk about heading into Friday night's game against the host San Francisco Giants. The Rockies, who defeated reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Chris Sale and the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday, rallied for a 4-3 victory in Thursday night's series opener against the Giants. It marks the first time this season that Colorado has won consecutive games. The Rockies began the season with a league-worst 5-25 record that tied the 2003 Detroit Tigers for the second-worst 30-game start in modern baseball history.

4/26/25 Braves' Chris Sale drops strong reaction to big outing vs. Diamondbacks. The Atlanta Braves are finding their rhythm after a slow start, and so is Chris Sale. In Friday night's commanding 8-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, Sale delivered his strongest outing of the season, flashing signs of the dominant ace who helped anchor Atlanta's rotation just a year ago. Sale worked five solid innings, escaping a bases-loaded threat in the first inning before retiring Corbin Carroll, Randall Grichuk, and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. in a perfect fifth inning to close his night.

4/26/25 Braves chase series win vs. Merrill Kelly, Diamondbacks. The Atlanta Braves continues to build on their strong recent homestead, buoyed by left-hander Chris Sale's first victory of the season Friday. Arizona, meanwhile, has fallen into its first dry spell of the season. The Diamondbacks have lost three in a row and five of their last seven heading into the second contest of the three-game series on Saturday. Atlanta received contributions up and down the lineup in its 8-2 victory Friday, when Eli White and Austin Riley had two hits and two RBIs apiece to help Sale notch the elusive win.

4/24/25 Red Sox Witnessing Nightmare Situation With Padres Ace: Chris Sale 2.0?. The Boston Red Sox could have a repeat Chris Sale situation on their hands in 2025. Sale won the award last season in his first year with the Atlanta Braves after a handful of seasons with the Red Sox, during which Sale was constantly plagued by injuries. Now, a new ex-Red Sox is looking like one of the best starting pitchers in the NL, this time for the San Diego Padres.

4/19/25 Twins lose to Atlanta, their skid against Braves reaching double digits. Even more frustrating: The Twins had so many chances against longtime nemesis Chris Sale, who gave up six hits, half of them for extra bases, and walked three more batters in his 4? innings. But the Twins only scored twice, constantly seeking a clutch hit off the lefthander that never came. They went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position, three times leaving runners stranded on third base.

4/18/25 Vaughn Grissom's hot start, increased versatility could foreshadow Red Sox call-up. When the Boston Red Sox dealt Chris Sale to the Atlanta Braves in a one-for-one trade that netted infielder Vaughn Grissom back in Dec. 2023, it looked like the team had acquired a young and controllable piece who could make an immediate impact in manager Alex Cora's starting lineup.

4/16/25 MLB Writers Worried About Former Red Sox Ace's Diminishing Velocity. Is a former Boston Red Sox World Series champion pitcher showing signs of rapid decline to begin 2025? In the world of sports media, it seems like it's never too early to put out “panic meter” or “slump watch” think pieces, and that's just what two leading baseball writers did in the past week, with 2024 National League Cy Young Award winner Chris Sale ominously appearing in both articles. First came Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller's piece on Saturday entitled, “MLB Panic Meter on These 7 Ice-cold Players Early in 2025”. In the piece, Miller noted that the eight-time All-Star Sale is struggling with velocity to start the year.

4/12/25 Chris Sale looking to right ship in Braves' finale vs. Rays. With their season off to a terrible start, the Atlanta Braves could use a better version of pitcher Chris Sale than they have seen through his first three starts in 2025. On Sunday afternoon in familiar surroundings, Sale and the Braves will try to win their three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Sale situation could just be a slow start out of the gate for the left-hander. Or it could be some kind of nuisance preventing him from posting anything close to the stellar 2024 numbers that earned the 15-year veteran the National League Cy Young Award.

4/08/25 Ex-Red Sox Ace Visibly Erupts After Borderline Call In Braves Start. Chris Sale's emotions rang out in his best and worst of times during his career with the Boston Red Sox. Sale took exception to a borderline fastball on the edge to Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm that home plate umpire Stu Scheurwater called a ball after a flinch after the pitch.
