8/23/25 Angels Notes: Major Roster Move, Kenley Jansen in 'Tremendous Pain,' More. The Los Angeles Angels lost 3-2 to the Chicago Cubs on Friday, after heading into the ninth tied at two runs each. Tyler Anderson had a quality start, only giving up two runs, and the rest of the bullpen was solid until a banged-up Kenley Jansen took the mound. The 37-year-old closer is dealing with a rib injury that he picked up in the gym, and he has been getting treatment to avoid a stint on the injured list. Jansen gave up a solo shot to National League MVP candidate Pete Crow-Armstrong, and the Angels could not respond in the bottom of the ninth. Yoan Moncada hit two homers in the game, but it was not enough. The Angels made a major roster move before the game, activating relief pitcher

8/11/25 AL Cy Young Award Favorite Calls Out Red Sox Coaching Staff. The Boston Red Sox have built a reputation lately as a team that's elite at figuring out when an opposing pitcher is tipping pitches on the mound. Following a pre-game run in between Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Anderson and Red Sox first base coach Jose Flores in early June, manager Alex Cora and his on-field personnel are once again raising suspicion from rival dugouts after visual evidence surfaced of the team studying the deliveries of members from the San Diego Padres pitching staff. In the aftermath of the latest controversy, a Major League Baseball spokesperson confirmed to MLB reporter Kyle Glaser that the Red Sox use of a tablet in the dugout on Saturday falls within the league's guidelines and that “clubs are able to add their own advanced scouting materials to the dugout iPads that are registered with us,” according to Glaser.
