It was a strong bounce-back effort after he served up four homers and allowed a season-worst seven runs against the Cleveland Guardians in his last start. Trevor Story and Carlos Narvaez each had a solo homer among two hits as Boston won its second straight following three consecutive losses. 9/07/25	Trevor Story Hits Milestone With Start Vs. Diamondbacks. Trevor Story's time with the Boston Red Sox has been marred by injuries. He's appeared in 139 games this season, well above his previous Red Sox high of 94 games in 2022. In 2023 and 2024, he spent most of the season on the injured list. He's been healthy for the entirety of 2025, and by starting on Sunday against the Arizona Diamondbacks, he hit a milestone. It was his 88th straight start, tying his career high for consecutive starts. In 2018, he appeared in 157 of 162 games, starting 88 consecutive in the process. Playing every day has seemingly helped Story's numbers as well. He's started every game for the Red Sox since May 26. Over the course of his streak, he's slashed .283/.331/.500. After two Arizona singles and a walk loaded the bases with one out, No. 9 hitter Jake McCarthy hit a slow grounder up the middle that looked like an easy inning-ending double play ball. While joining 680 The Fan on Tuesday, MLB insider from ESPN, Buster Olney, suggested that the Atlanta Braves could target All-Star shortstop Trevor Story, should he be available. Story has an opt-out clause after this season. Should he stay in Boston, he'll be guaranteed $25 million a year for the next two years, and he has a club option worth the same amount. Olney forsees the shortstop position being a focus of the Braves this offseason, aiming for an offensive upgrade that can also provide competent defense.
