5/14/24 Giants' Jorge Soler struck in head by his own foul ball during BP. San Francisco Giants slugger was placed on the 10-day IL last week with a shoulder injury, and Tuesday marked the first day that he was set to rejoin batting practice with the team. Jorge Soler hit on the field for the first time since going on the IL and he fouled a ball off the top pipe of the cage that ricocheted and struck him in the head. The Giants filled his roster spot by recalling outfielder Heliot Ramos from their Triple-A affiliate in Sacramento.

5/13/24 Report: Giants Close To Signing Star Slugger. It's no secret that the San Francisco Giants could desperately use a boost on offense. The team entered play on Monday in the bottom half of the National League in a number of offensive categories, including runs (11th), walks (12th) and stolen bases (last). One area where the Giants have really struggled is in the power department, ranking 12th among NL teams in doubles, 10th in home runs and 10th in slugging percentage. Making matters worse, two of their top sluggers -- Jorge Soler and Michael Conforto -- are both on the injured list.

5/12/24 San Francisco Giants Front Office Disappointed in Offseason Decisions. The San Francisco Giants have been one of the most disappointing teams in baseball almost 40 games into the season. Making additions to better their roster and give them a chance to compete in the National League, the Giants are 18-23 and already nine games out of first place in the NL West. Jorge Soler, Jung Hoo Lee, Matt Chapman, Jordan Hicks, and Blake Snell were the big moves of the offseason.

5/10/24 San Francisco Giants Given Mediocre Grade For Disappointing Start. The San Francisco Giants have not had the start they start to the season that many envisioned, prompting many to sell their stock on the team. As Bleacher Report's Tim Kelly graded every team's 2024 start, San Francisco was given a mediocre "C-" for their 17-22 record. "The Giants feel like a collection of players rather than a coherent team, though, and it may cost president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi his job if they don't reach the postseason this year." It's fair to say that the contributions they should have gotten from players like Jorge Soler, Matt Chapman and Blake Snell should be a lot better than what they have been.

5/03/24 Red Sox fans might be thankful free agency push for Giants slugger fell short. The Boston Red Sox searched for a right-handed power bat during the 2023-24 offseason, and Jorge Soler was one of the better options. The slugger ended up signing with the San Francisco Giants, and while his team just visited for a series at Fenway Park, he told reporters that he and the Red Sox were never close to a deal this winter. Boston fans would've expected Soler to mash at Fenway — and everywhere else. The slugger earned an All-Star appearance with the Miami Marlins in 2023 and batted .250/.341/.512 with 36 homers.

San Francisco Giants Slugger Has Reaction That Reflects Everyone's Thoughts It's been a tough time on the offensive end for the San Francisco Giants and one of their sluggers reacted in a way that just about everyone rooting for this team felt. Author: Brad Wakai May 02, 2024 In this story: San Francisco Giants MLB Jorge Soler The San Francisco Giants have not been able to get things going offensively this season. Through their 32 games, they have only scored 121 runs, putting them at 20th in the league. Their average of just 3.78 runs per game has made it extremely difficult for them to string together victories. They were expecting way more after adding high-profile players this winter to boost

4/23/24 SF Giants' new 'Hollywood'-like lighting catches Camilo Doval's attention. When Jorge Soler homered Friday night, it got one monkey off the Giants' backs. In 10 games at Oracle Park entering Monday, there hadn't been a reason to showcase the full capabilities of the fancy, schmancy new lighting system installed over the offseason. The LED bulbs and 12 spotlights had sat mostly dormant because there hadn't been a single save situation for Camilo Doval after dark. The 24,138 on hand quickly turned their confusion into enthusiasm as the bullpen door swung open and Doval was illuminated by a crosshatch of spotlights.

4/20/24 Watch: Jung Hoo Lee slugs first home run at Oracle Park. It took the Giants eight games before Jorge Soler slugged their first home run of the season at Oracle Park in Friday night's loss. Not 24 hours later, Jung Hoo Lee raised the count to two in the first inning of their Saturday matinee against the Diamondbacks. Swinging at the second pitch of the game from Zac Gallen, Lee sent a letter-high fastball over the Levi's Landing sign in right field. The home run was the second of Lee's career but the first time he was able to round the bases in front of the home fans, his first coming in the opening series of the year at Petco Park.

4/20/24 San Francisco Giants Finally End Embarrassing Streak. San Francisco Giants Finally End Embarrassing Streak Jorge Soler finally ended an embarrassing streak for the San Francisco Giants. Author: Tyler Maher Apr 20, 2024 In this story: San Francisco Giants MLB Jorge Soler San Francisco Giants fans were starting to wonder if they'd ever get to see the new lights. The Giants installed new lights at Oracle Park during the offseason, replacing the traditional lights with special programmable LED ones. One goal was doing a flashing lights show every time a San Francisco player homered, similar to what other teams like the Boston Red Sox have started doing in their home park. There was only one problem: Giants players weren't hitting any home runs. San

4/16/24 San Francisco Giants' Poor Offense With Men On Base Continues To Haunt Team. San Francisco Giants' Poor Offense With Men On Base Continues To Haunt Team It was another rough showing from the San Francisco Giants with runners on base, something that set up a rubber match against one of the worst teams in baseball. Author: Brad Wakai Apr 17, 2024 In this story: San Francisco Giants MLB Miami Marlins Things have not gone great for the San Francisco Giants offensively this season. Through 18 games, they are scoring only 4.22 runs per contest and sit 18th in total runs scored. Not quite what they were hoping for when adding Jung Hoo Lee, Jorge Soler, and Matt Chapman in free agency. That was on display Tuesday night against the lowly Miami Marlins when the Giants only plated

3/20/24 How Snell, Giants became right fit leading up to 2024 season. Over the winter, the Giants took down several sections of seats at Scottsdale Stadium and built a new party deck down the right field line. It was meant to become a go-to spot during Cactus League games, but it ended up getting plenty of action in the mornings, too. On Wednesday, for the third time since camp opened, president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi met with the media to introduce a marquee addition to the roster. After introducing Jorge Soler on that deck, Zaidi said he anticipated the offseason work being done.

3/19/24 Giants' Blake Snell signing an 'absolute gift' for San Francisco, claims rival exec. It's been a while since the San Francisco Giants made the playoffs. The team landed new faces such as Jorge Soler, Matt Chapman and Jung Hoo Lee. Signing a two-year $62 million contract, Snell will be heading to the Bay after three seasons with the San Diego Padres. Of course, winning the sweepstakes for the reigning CY Young Awardee is no small news, so the deal brought along plenty of reactions, even from among other teams.

3/04/24 San Francisco Giants' addition of Matt Chapman completes revamped lineup, but will they have enough pitching to stay afloat in the NL West?. The Giants gained impact and star power with Jung-Hoo Lee and Jorge Soler, and they could still add Jordan Montgomery or Blake Snell to the rotation.

2/26/24 SF Giants-Angels: Jorge Soler offers preview of things to come in debut. Stepping into the batter's box Monday afternoon for the first time with the San Francisco Giants, Jorge Soler cocked the two-toned Marucci bat over his right shoulder and, on the very first pitch he saw, unloaded with a fury. The big slugger came out swinging in his Giants debut, but the preview of what's to come, they hope, was what followed. A few pitches later, Soler cracked a line-drive single into left field, recording a hit in his first exhibition at-bat with his new team. Flores, who helped recruit Soler to San Francisco, trotted home.

Before taking Soler, though, the Giants took a stab at another power hitter. J.D Martinez, the hard-hitting outfielder of the Los Angeles Dodgers, was offered a one-year contract by the Giants, per Bob Nightengale.
