Try it free Brooks Raley has added a strong lefty presence to the Mets' bullpen since returning from the injured list in July, but the veteran reliever had his first rocky outing of the season in Friday's 11-9 loss to the Mariners . After 10 consecutive scoreless appearances following his activation from the IL in the wake of 2024 Tommy John surgery, Raley was charged with three earned runs after allowing one inherited runner from Ryan Helsley to score in the Mariners' five-run seventh inning. “Guys are working hard, there's

8/06/25 Mets' Brooks Raley getting it done after return from Tommy John surgery. Access the Mets beat like never before Join Post Sports+ for exciting subscriber-only features, including real-time texting with Mike Puma about the inside buzz on the Mets. Try it free The MLB season is nearing the home stretch, but for Brooks Raley it has just begun. Coming off Tommy John surgery performed at the beginning of last season, Raley's been thrown into the fire right away as one of two Mets left-handed relief pitchers. “There would be [pressure] if I hadn't played on this team before,” Raley told The Post before pitching a scoreless eighth inning in the Mets' 3-2 loss to the Guardians . Raley said it also helps that he's familiar with the role, considering that he was the lone lefty

Access the Mets beat like never before Join Post Sports+ for exciting subscriber-only features, including real-time texting with Mike Puma about the inside buzz on the Mets. Try it free José Buttó's final line wasn't great for the Mets on Wednesday, but the return of a proven arm was a welcome development for the club. Slowly, the Mets bullpen is regaining pieces — even as team brass searches for an upgrade or two heading to the trade deadline. Buttó allowed two earned runs on three hits over two-thirds of an inning in the 6-3 victory over the Angels at Citi Field, but he was picked up by Brooks Raley — who got the final out in the seventh and two more in the eighth. “With Buttó, I liked the

7/19/25 Activated Mets veteran feels he's 'a tick better' post-Tommy John surgery. It's been 455 days since Mets left-hander Brooks Raley has pitched in a big league game. Ahead of Friday's 8-4 loss to the Cincinnati Reds, the Mets finally activated Raley, who underwent Tommy John surgery last May, off the 60-day injured list. Despite his extended absence, Raley, 37, is confident in his “stuff.” “I definitely think I'm in line,” Raley told reporters in the tunnel located inside the Mets' dugout before the game, “maybe a tick better.”

7/18/25 Mets activate Brooks Raley from IL, DFA Richard Lovelady. For the first time since last April, left-handed reliever Brooks Raley will be available out of the New York Mets' bullpen. Before Friday's series opener against the Cincinnati Reds, the Mets announced that Raley had returned from his rehab assignment and was reinstated from the 60-day injured list. To make room on the 26-man roster, fellow lefty Richard Lovelady was designated for assignment. Before injuring his elbow, Raley served as the Mets' go-to left-hander out of the bullpen.
