2/20/24 Magnanimous Man: Rangers Travis Jankowski Remains Cool About His Role. Travis Jankowski didn't need a sales pitch to return to the Texas Rangers — he just needed a contract. “When they offered me a contract, it was like, 'All right, let's go,'” Jankowski said when he reported for spring training in Surprise, Ariz. Jankowski won a World Series ring with the Rangers after nearly a decade of bouncing around baseball as the former first-round pick struggled to find consistent playing time. With the Rangers, he played 100 or more games in a season for just the third time in his career.

2/14/24 'Feels like just yesterday': World Series winner visits alma mater Lancaster Catholic. Travis Jankowski recently signed a one-year, $1.7 million contract to return to the Texas Rangers. It's part of the reason why the Lancaster Catholic High School alum was back at his alma mater recently, instructing and speaking to students there 15 years since he was in their shoes. It took Jankowski, 32, until his eighth year in Major League Baseball, on his sixth ball club, to have the best season of his career, helping the Rangers win the World Series last fall.

A quick glance at the back of Travis Jankowski's baseball card would reveal something strange about the Rangers outfielder. In nine MLB seasons between the Padres, who drafted him in the first round in 2012, Reds, Phillies, Mets and Rangers, Jankowski has played in 577 games and made 1502 plate appearances. 10/27/23 Column: From Senators II to Rangers, this franchise is long overdue for a championship. If there’s ever been a team that’s due for a championship — way overdue, to put it bluntly — it’s the Texas Rangers. From their beginnings as a hastily assembled replacement team for the nation’s capital in 1961, through a whole lot of losing seasons and one excruciatingly close-but-no-cigar call, the Senators II-turned-Rangers have labored longer than any franchise in America’s four major sports leagues without a championship on their resume. “Really?” Texas outfielder Travis Jankowski asked incredulously on the eve of the Rangers' third World Series appearance, set to begin Friday night with Game 1 against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

10/08/23 How Bruce Bochy's radical calm propelled the Texas Rangers to the postseason. BRUCE BOCHY SPEAKS in a low rumble, walks like his shoes are three sizes too small and prefers to talk about anything but himself. “We know one thing,” Rangers outfielder Travis Jankowski says of manager Bruce Bochy, above: “No matter what happens in [the postseason], Boch won't be surprised by it.”
