12/04/24 Toronto Blue Jays SP Chris Bassitt Earns Spot Among MLBPA Leadership. The MLB Players Association's leadership has been decided for the 2025 and 2026 seasons, and the Toronto Blue Jays will have some representation at the very top. Blue Jays starting pitcher Chris Bassitt was named one of the two Association Player Representatives alongside Texas Rangers second baseman Marcus Semien, a former Blue Jay himself. Semien retained his position from the last two-year cycle, while Bassitt replaced New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor in the other post.

11/15/24 Blue Jays listed among possible fits for former Cy Young Award winner. The Toronto Blue Jays have some work to do this offseason after finishing 74-88 and falling to last place in the American League East in 2024. One area that could use a little work is their starting rotation. Pitchers such as Chris Bassitt and Kevin Gausman are aging, and they are going to need an extra presence in their rotation. According to Katie Woo and Will Sammon of The Athletic, they could be in the mix for left-hander and former Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell.
