2/25/24 Amid offseason trade rumors, Farmer happily surprised he remains with Twins. FORT MYERS, FLA. — When Kyle Farmer celebrates his wedding anniversary Nov. 18, the celebratory dinner with his wife, Courtney, is usually interrupted by baseball news. Farmer was at an anniversary dinner in 2022 when he received a call from Nick Krall, the Cincinnati Reds' general manager, informing him he was traded to the Twins. One day before his anniversary last November, he braced for ...

2/22/24 After offseason uncertainty, infielder Kyle Farmer 'ecstatic' to be back with Twins. In the minutes after the Twins were eliminated from the postseason last October, infielder Kyle Farmer expressed his desire to remain in Minnesota, all while knowing the decision was out of his control. As an arbitration-eligible player, he said he didn't think the Twins would tender him a contract in November. The Twins traded Polanco to the Seattle Mariners at the end of January, clearing room in a crowded infield. It was at that point that Farmer realized he would be reporting to Fort Myers, Fla., as planned, for spring training.

1/12/24 Twins, Kyle Farmer running it back after hammering out deal in MLB free agency. The reigning AL Central champion Minnesota Twins are not relinquishing their place atop the perch of their division without a fight. On Thursday, the Twins made a move that will help protect their infield depth for 2024, as they brought back veteran shortstop Kyle Farmer to a cost-friendly one-year deal with a mutual option for 2025. According to Dan Hayes of The Athletic, Farmer will be making a base salary of $6.05 million next season, although he could make up to a total of $6.3 million if the Twins don't pick up their end of the mutual option. This deal allows Kyle Farmer and the Twins to avoid arbitration altogether, as going to those contentious hearings runs the risk of sullying the relationship between ballclub and player.

11/17/23 Twins tender all but two of their arbitration-eligible players. The Twins tendered contracts to all but two of their arbitration-eligible players ahead of Friday's 7 p.m. deadline, notably Kyle Farmer and Willi Castro, veteran pieces of the team's American League Central Division championship, and recent high draft picks Alexi Kirilloff and Ryan Jeffers. While some of the decisions weren't much of decisions at all — as with Kirilloff and Jeffers — there were questions around other players, either because they were coming off of an injury-plagued season or because of salary. The Twins also tendered Caleb Thielbar, Jorge Alcala and Nick Gordon.
