1/31/25 | San Francisco Giants Free Agent Drawing Interest From Former Team for Reunion. There are a few positions that the San Francisco Giants could still use some help at with just a few weeks until Spring Training gets underway. It certainly wouldn't hurt to find an upgrade for the corner outfield spot with Michael Conforto leaving in free agency and signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers. First base also remains a need, with LaMonte Wade Jr. penciled in as the starter. One player who they had hoped would fill that role last season was Mark Canha, who was acquired from the Detroit Tigers ahead of the trade deadline. 12/30/24 | San Francisco Giants Outfield Needs Health, Player Development to Improve. The San Francisco Giants have seen a lot of shakeup this offseason, but one spot that remains largely the same is the outfield. As a group, the Giants outfield combined for a 101 wRC+, which puts them pretty much at league average. There haven't been any additions and the only real loss was Michael Conforto, who was playing at a solid level. It's a young group, though, so they can find improvement with health and development. 12/19/24 | Dodgers predicted to lose $69 million two-time All-Star to Red Sox. The Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series this past fall, overcoming various injuries and soaring past some of the best teams in the National League to reach their goal. For example, the Dodgers have already signed outfielder Michael Conforto to a one-year deal, which may ultimately mean there is no room to re-sign Teoscar Hernandez. Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report predicted that Hernandez would ultimately leave the Dodgers and sign a deal with the Boston Red Sox. Source: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/los-angeles-do... |
12/13/24 | Los Angeles Dodgers finalize contracts with Michael Conforto and Blake Treinen. The Los Angeles Dodgers finalized a $17 million, one-year contract to add outfielder Michael Conforto on Tuesday along with a $22 million, two-year agreement to retain right-hander Blake Treinen. Conforto, a former first-round draft pick who turns 32 on March 1, hit .237 with 20 homers and 66 RBIs this year for San Francisco in the final season of a $36 million, two-year contract. Conforto turned down an $18.4 million offer from the Mets, then didn't sign for 2022 as he recovered from right shoulder surgery. Conforto has a .251 career average with 167 homers and 520 RBIs in nine major league seasons. Source: https://wtop.com/sports/2024/12/blake-treinen-and-... |

12/02/24 | Giants Forgotten $36 Million All-Star Could Be Solution To Royals' Biggest Weakness. The Kansas City Royals have addressed many of their needs thus far in the offseason, but not their biggest one by far. The outfield was a black hole for the Royals in 2024, and somehow, Kansas City managed to sneak their way into a playoff spot in spite of it. Perhaps the Royals could find that veteran lurking on a roster across the country in the Bay Area. Michael Conforto of the San Francisco Giants is an interesting potential fit for Kansas City. 11/25/24 | This Outfielder Could Be An Intriguing Free Agent Target For Guardians. The Cleveland Guardians' offseason needs are not a secret. If the Guardians do take the route of spending some money this winter, then free-agent outfielder Michael Conforto could be an option for Cleveland. Conforto is coming off a solid year as a member of the San Francisco Giants. Conforto's 20 home runs and 66 RBI during the 2024 season would've each ranked third on the Guardians. Giants outfielder Michael Conforto was one of those players mentioned. Conforto came over to San Francisco a couple of years ago after missing a season of baseball. Of the players who could be off the team includes Michael Conforto. Conforto, a former All-Star, hasn't played as well as many had hoped for when the Giants landed him. Plenty of that is due to health issues, but Conforto was once a much better player. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/giants/san-francisco-giants... |

9/07/24 | If Michael Conforto isn't back with SF Giants, has he proven enough to cash in this winter?. 8/31/24 | Mason Black pitches well in return to big leagues, but SF Giants' late magic runs out in loss to Marlins. The Giants followed a familiar formula Saturday against the Marlins, one that pulled out a thrilling win a night earlier. Unlike in Friday night's theatric win, however, the Giants' late magic ran out a run too early. Michael Conforto's solo shot in the eighth inning was as close as they would get in a 4-3 loss to the National League's worst team. It sent them back below .500 (68-69), kept them 6½ games back of the Braves, and wasted a spot start from Mason Black that was as much as they could ask for.
