10/13/24 This Veteran First Base Slugger Could Become Real Option for Houston Astros. Much of what the Houston Astros will do this offseason centers around the decision that Alex Bregman will make regarding his impending free agency. This was something Houston thought they solved prior to the 2023 season when they handed Jose Abreu a monster three-year, $58.5 million contract that shocked a lot of people around the league considering the age of the slugger.

10/11/24 Houston Astros Predicted To Bring Back All-Star. The Houston Astros were eliminated before the American League Championship Series for the first time since 2016. Now, the focus is on Alex Bregman and his future with the team. ESPN's Bradford Doolittle thinks he will be in Houston for the forseeable future. Bregman is a free agent and will likely command a huge deal given his pedigree.

10/07/24 Red Sox 'Covet' Projected Projected $165 Million Star, Per Insider. Will the Boston Red Sox pull off a major signing this winter? Boston has money to spend, and the organization has said all of the right things so far since being eliminated from playoff contention. It seems like a real possibility that the Red Sox are going to go back to their spending ways this winter and Boston needs to focus on adding at least one right-handed bat. One of the best offensive players that will be available is Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman.

10/04/24 Tigers linked to Astros fan favorite star ahead of free agency. The Detroit Tigers are headed to the American League Division Series after knocking out the Houston Astros in the Wild Card round. Detroit not only ended the Astros season, but they could have also ended Alex Bregman's time in Houston. The veteran slugger and two-time World Series champion is set to become a free agent at the end of the postseason, and since Houston doesn't typically dish out large contracts to free agents, Wednesday could have been his final day in an Astros uniform.

10/04/24 Red Sox Insider Hints Boston Shouldn't Pursue $165 Million Star. There clearly will be some changes coming to the Boston Red Sox's lineup over the winter. Boston's lineup had times last season where it looked great, but it was very lefty-heavy and wasn't sustainable. The Red Sox need to add some more firepower and specifically need to target at least one or two right-handed bats. Because of this, Houston Astros impending free agent Alex Bregman has been floated as a fit on a few occasions.

10/03/24 Red Sox fans want to see Astros third baseman in a Boston uniform next season. Fans of the Boston Red Sox are seemingly in on the Alex Bregman sweepstakes. Bregman and the Houston Astros just got swept in the Wildcard series against the Detroit Tigers, and will now become a free agent. It seems like Bregman will test free agency, with a rather cryptic thank you he gave to Houston on his X account. Bregman would address the righty hitter problem the Sox have, but he also plays the same position as Rafael Devers, third base.

9/27/24 Could This Longtime Rival Fit into the Yankees' Future Plans?. Could the New York Yankees be a fit for longtime rival Alex Bregman this offseason? On Thursday, Jon Heyman explored this possibility in an article published by The New York Post. The MLB insider suggested a path for the Yankees to add the two-time All-Star third baseman to their lineup in 2025 and beyond. “Jazz Chisholm Jr. could move to second [base], where he's Gold Glove caliber,” Heyman wrote.

9/20/24 Astros Don't See Alex Bregman Fleeing To Join Red Sox, Others. The Red Sox have an intriguing offseason ahead, the second of chief baseball officer Craig Breslow's since joining the organization's front office. Currently slipping out of reach from the American League wild-card race, Boston's needs for improvement have become more apparent, which will surely spark a winter filled with rumors. Houston's Alex Bregman, an impending free agent, was linked to Boston and could offer a handful of upgrades, both offensively and defensively. 9/18/24 Astros Will 'Definitely Engage' in Alex Bregman Contract amid MLB Rumors, GM Says. Houston Astros general manager Dana Brown said Wednesday that the team will hold contract talks with free-agent-to-be Alex Bregman following the 2024 season. "We were in Anaheim the other day and I ran into [agent Scott Boras] and we started talking a little bit, and we both said, 'Look, once we get towards the end of the season and things are over, we'll definitely engage and talk about it,'" he told Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. Bregman, 30, is having another solid season for the Astros, hitting .256 with 23 homers, 67 RBI, 74 runs and a .754 OPS in 136 contests.

9/13/24 MLB Rumors: Astros' Alex Bregman mentioned as possible Red Sox's free agency target. As the MLB postseason and, ultimately, the offseason approaches, the Boston Red Sox are reportedly considering a significant move to balance their heavily left-handed lineup by targeting Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman in free agency, according to an article by Ken Rosenthal. A Bregman acquisition could reshape the Red Sox's infield and provide the right-handed power they have lacked.

9/12/24 Red Sox named a landing spot for $200 million superstar infielder this offseason. The Boston Red Sox may have walked off the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night to earn a series win, but they're still four games out of the final Wild-Card spot in the American League with just 16 games left in their season. Boston will have a lot of decisions to make and should have a ton of money to spend. If the Red Sox want to make a splash, one of the biggest names on the market this offseason will be Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman, and Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer actually listed Boston as a potential landing spot for him.
