The Arizona Diamondbacks could receive a much-needed boost as first baseman Josh Naylor is expected to make a return Wednesday night against the San Francisco Giants. Diamondbacks assistant general manager Mike Fitzgerald told Arizona Sports' Wolf & Luke on Wednesday that he was anticipating Naylor to return to the lineup after missing the team's last four games. “We are hoping he will be back in the lineup tonight,” Fitzgerald said on Wednesday morning. 7/02/25	Rangers predicted to trade for $10.9 million Diamondbacks All-Star. It's been a bit of a slow start for the Texas Rangers this year. The offense has been a major problem for Texas this season, and if they add at the trade deadline, they'll need a bat or two. David Schoenfield of ESPN predicts that the Rangers will add Josh Naylor at the deadline. "The Rangers rank 22nd in the majors in OPS at first base and last at DH, so even factoring in this season's odd low-run environment at Globe Life Field, Naylor is a solution for either position, especially considering their DHs this past week included light-hitting journeyman Sam Haggerty and whichever catcher wasn't starting," Schoenfield writes. At 40-38, the team is eight-and-a-half games back from the Detroit Tigers for first place in the American League Central. Cleveland is only half-a-game back from the third AL wild card spot, but the team has underperformed after trading star first baseman Josh Naylor to the Arizona Diamondbacks in the offseason. It just appeared someone forgot to tell that to the Arizona Diamondbacks slugger. Josh Naylor hit a game-ending grand slam in the 11th inning and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Seattle Mariners 8-4 on Monday night after losing closer Justin Martinez with two outs in the ninth and then blowing a four-run lead. Corbin Carroll launched a leadoff homer and Naylor had three hits and five RBIs for the Diamondbacks, who stopped a three-game skid.
