6/29/25 Guardians struggling through June, while Cardinals are upbeat. The Cleveland Guardians have reached the midpoint of their season with a losing record, falling one game below .500 with back-to-back losses to the visiting St. Louis Cardinals. Cleveland left-hander Logan Allen (5-5, 4.25 ERA) will be tasked with trying to avoid a three-game series sweep Sunday, when he takes on Cardinals lefty Matthew Liberatore (5-6, 3.96). Brendan Donovan, Victor Scott II and Alec Burleson each drove in two runs Saturday as St. Louis staged its largest comeback of the season, rallying from five down for a 9-6 victory that earned reliever Matt Svanson his first win in the majors.

6/19/25 Logan Allen's mental toughness fuels his rotation resurgence for Guardians. Just ask Logan Allen, who has transformed from a struggling pitcher seemingly haunted by bad luck to a reliable rotation piece for the Cleveland Guardians this season. Allen continued his impressive turnaround Wednesday night in San Francisco, outdueling future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander while holding the Giants scoreless through 5 1/3 innings in Cleveland's 4-2 victory. It was the latest chapter in what's becoming one of the Guardians' most encouraging storylines of 2025. “It's just a continuation of what he's been doing the last three or four times out,” explained Paul Hoynes, cleveland.com Guardians beat reporter, on the latest Cleveland Baseball Talk Podcast.

The weather, however, should be just fine when the Cleveland Guardians left-hander takes the mound in the finale of a four-game series in Detroit on Sunday. Cleveland will be looking for a sweep of the series. Allen pitched three innings against Minnesota on Monday before the bad weather struck.

5/14/25 Logan Allen keeps the rotation turnaround chugging along: Guardians breakfast today. It has been an uneven start to the season for the Guardians' starting rotation. In his best start of the season, Allen struck out six, walked one and allowed three hits in 89 pitches. “We're a little team of five,” said Allen, when asked about the rotation.

5/03/25 New Cleveland Guardians Pitcher Makes Solid First Impression. The Cleveland Guardians have been looking for another stable arm to add to their pitching staff over the last week. Injuries and overworked pitchers have made Cleveland's bullpen extremely thin. Festa made his Guardians debut on Friday night against the Toronto Blue Jays and was stellar in his first big-league appearance this season. The veteran pitcher relieved Logan Allen in the bottom of the sixth and immediately got out of the inning with a strikeout.

Four starts into the new year, and the unexpected pitcher is still proving why he deserves one of the five rotation spots, while being a massive boost for the Guardians' pitching staff. Allen was roughed up a little bit in his season debut, giving up four earned runs to the San Diego Padres.

4/19/25 Cleveland Guardians Pitcher Starting to Look Like a Lost Cause. The Cleveland Guardians entered 2025 they would have to piece together their starting rotation, as it was a major issue last year and didn't get a whole lot better during the offseason. The Guardians' last spot on their starting pitching staff was up for grabs in spring training, with Logan Allen and Triston McKenzie representing the primary two arms fighting for it. Allen ended up winning the battle, relegating McKenzie to the bullpen.

4/02/25 Guardians Skipper Encouraged By Intriguing Pitcher's Season Debut. Heading into spring training, the initial plan for the Cleveland Guardians wasn't to have Logan Allen in their starting rotation. The lefty made his first appearance of the season on Tuesday night in Cleveland's loss to the San Diego Padres, and Stephen Vogt was clearly encouraged by what he saw from the 26-year-old. Allen did give up some runs, but Cleveland's skipper overall thought, "Logan was outstanding."
