7/18/25 Reese Kaplan -- So Who Should David Stearns Target This Month?. The Mets continue their treadmill spinning without making any significant moves of major league solid players added to their roster while they remain a half game back of the division leading Philadelphia Phillies. The center field options have been addressed in previous articles but the name Cedric Mullins keeps popping up on many folks' radar as a buy low rental for the remainder of the 2025 season.

7/16/25 MACK - MY Wednesday Observations - Nicknames, My 2026 Team, Jonah Tong, Cedric Mullins, Josh Naylor, Aroldis Chapman, Sean Murphy. Baseball has had some famous “cluster nicknames” for certain players playing on the same team at the same time… some to come to my mind are the Gashouse Gang, Murderer's Row, and the Big Red Machine. The Mets had two famous nicknames for their pitching prospects… Generation K (Paul Wilson, Bill Pulsipher, Jason Isringhausen) and The Fab Five (Jacob deGrom, Zack Wheeler, Matt Harvey, Steven Matz, Noah Syndergaard).

7/15/25 Astros predicted to land $9 million Orioles All-Star in deadline blockbuster. The Houston Astros are inevitable. On the contrary, adding one more outfield bat to the lineup could be how these Astros separate themselves from the pack and get back to the World Series after back-to-back years of playoff disappointment. One baseball writer thinks the Baltimore Orioles could the the team the Astros call upon. On Monday, Matt Johnson of Sportsnaut predicted that the Astros would trade for former All-Star center fielder Cedric Mullins from the last-place Orioles.

7/12/25 Ex-Mets GM asserts outfield trade target is 'excellent fit' for New York. In a June 25 live stream with Bleacher Report, MLB insider Jon Heyman conveyed that Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins seems to make a lot of sense for the New York Mets to pursue via trade before the July 31 deadline. You could look at center field for the Mets, I think [Tyrone] Taylor has done a great job defensively.

7/11/25 Mets announcer almost nailed by foul ball in close call. It turns out baseball announcing can be a dangerous profession. During the Mets' second game of Thursday's double-header against the Orioles at Camden Yards, broadcaster Keith Hernandez was nearly drilled by a foul ball off the bat of Baltimore outfielder Cedric Mullins. Hernandez had no idea the ball was coming at him as he sat in the SNY booth.

7/10/25 Keith Hernandez nearly gets drilled by foul ball in SNY Mets booth — and didn't realize: 'Dangerous'. Keith Hernandez had zero clue that a ball almost drilled him. During the second game of Thursday's doubleheader between the Mets and the Orioles, Hernandez was inches away from being struck by a foul ball hit by Baltimore outfielder Cedric Mullins while in the SNY booth at Camden Yards. “Cedric Mullins fouls one back this way,” play-by-play announcer Gary Cohen said during the seventh inning of the nightcap. “And that went right past Keith's ear and he never saw it.” Keith Hernandez's reaction to almost getting hit by a foul ball was hilarious on the SNY Mets broadcast. ????? #MLB pic.twitter.com/jGGEVZVAP2 https://t.co/1G2o5meQ6R — Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) July 10, 2025 Following

7/10/25 Former MLB Executive Shares How He'd Boldly Handle Orioles MLB Trade Deadline. The Baltimore Orioles have not done it yet, but they will be waving the flag on the 2025 regular season sometime in the near future. The Orioles have been playing better baseball recently, but for the betterment of the franchise, they should be selling ahead of the trade deadline that is set for the end of July. There are several players who will garner interest on the team's roster, mostly players who are on expiring contracts. Center fielder Cedric Mullins offers a nice combination of power and speed along with strong defense.

7/09/25 Phillies predicted to acquire Orioles' $9 million All-Star at trade deadline. The Philadelphia Phillies have their work cut out for them at the trade deadline. If the last week of Phillies baseball is proving anything, it's that the offense isn't yet built for the postseason. Center field has long been a position at which the Phillies have been ripe for an upgrade. On Tuesday, MLB Network's Greg Amsinger predicted that the Phillies would acquire Baltimore Orioles center fielder Cedric Mullins, a 2021 All-Star who will hit free agency at season's end.

7/03/25 Would Guardians Make This Desperation Move Before MLB Trade Deadline?. The Cleveland Guardians are floundering right now, having lost six straight games to fall to 40-44 on the season with the MLB trade deadline looming. At this point, it's becoming increasingly obvious that the Guardians are not contenders as currently constructed, and they honestly might not even be a legitimate Wild Card hopeful. Cleveland has multiple glaring issues, but perhaps its biggest problem is its lack of offensive firepower, particularly in its outfield where both center field and right field have been a catastrophe. Henry Palatella of Away Back Gone has rattled off some "desperation" ideas to potentially save the Guardians' season, and of them is trading for Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins.

7/02/25 MLB Mock Trade: Mets Acuire Cedric Mullins In Deal Involving Starling Marte. This has been a disastrous season for the Baltimore Orioles, who currently sit in last place in the American League East with a record of 37 - 48. While their general manager, Mike Elias, has been very hesitant to become a seller, it could end up becoming inevitable over the next few weeks. Likewise, the New York Mets, who were once rolling in the National League East, are starting to look a lot like the Mets again. The team has no offense, and the pitching isn't very good either.

7/02/25 Phillies Linked to Non-Luis Robert Trade to Replace Johan Rojas With Cedric Mullins. The Philadelphia Phillies were linked to Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins in a recent trade idea.

7/02/25 Phillies could acquire pair of Orioles All-Stars in package deal, per insider. Could the Philadelphia Phillies find a one-stop shop for their trade deadline needs? The Phillies need two things above all else: a new outfield bat and a reliable reliever/potential closer. One Major League Baseball insider believes the Baltimore Orioles, who have been one of the most disappointing teams of the season, could be the right fit for the Phillies in a potential blockbuster. On Wednesday, Jim Bowden of The Athletic wrote that a trade sending Orioles center fielder Cedric Mullins and closer Félix Bautista to Philadelphia for a handful of prospects could work out nicely for both sides.

6/30/25 Astros Could Be Ideal Fit For Orioles Star Amid Report of Trade Deadline Interest. The Houston Astros have the makings of a team that can compete for another World Series this year in what is a very weak American League. This is of course far from a finished product and could use an infusion at multiple positions, and that is what the trade deadline is for just a few short weeks from now. Much of the discourse surrounding the trade possibilities for the Astros has revolved around starting pitching due to the amount of injuries the team has there. As a result, Houston was linked over the weekend to Baltimore Orioles center fielder Cedric Mullins and it was reported by Bob Nightengale that the Astros "have their eyes on" the 30-year-old.

6/30/25 Phillies listed as possible fit for $8.73 million Orioles All-Star. The Philadelphia Phillies have remained one of the top teams in Major League Baseball this season. The team does have needs that they'll have to address at the trade deadline, however. There will be some outfielders available at the deadline, and Philadelphia will likely be in the mix for several of them. R.J. Anderson of CBS Sports listed Cedric Mullins as a potential trade candidate and listed Philadelphia as a fit.

6/29/25 Astros Have 'Eyes On' Orioles Star Outfielder To Solve Their Major Issue. The Houston Astros are expected to be active ahead of the upcoming trade deadline, but just how aggressive they decide to be isn't quite clear. Starting pitching seems to be a need based on how many arms are on the injured list right now, but general manager Dana Brown has also stated they are looking to add left-handed hitters since their lineup is devoid of them. How the Astros order those two areas when it comes to their preferred targets is starting to become more clear, with Bob Nightengale of USA Today reporting Houston is "aggressively looking for a left-handed bat." Plenty of names have been floated as potential options for the Astros, but the insider revealed Brown and the front office have their "eyes on Orioles center fielder Cedric Mullins."

6/29/25 Houston Astros 'Aggressively' Looking For Big Trade, Former All-Star in the Mix. According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Houston Astros are scouring the trade market for lineup help. The Houston Astros are aggressively looking for a left-handed bat on the market, with eyes on Orioles center fielder Cedric Mullins. The Astros were 3.5 games back in the American League West just six weeks ago, but they've vaulted to 6.5 games in front of the Seattle Mariners as they chase their third World Series title since 2017. Furthermore, they should get even better in the near future, as injured star Yordan Alvarez is working his way back.

6/27/25 MLB Rumors: AL East Veteran Emerging As 'Legitimate Trade Candidate'. The Red Sox have an uphill mountain to climb in the American League East. In fourth place, they're only ahead of the Baltimore Orioles near the 2025 season's midway point. Two years removed from a 101-win campaign, the Orioles have endured a disappointing 34-46 start. Barring a quick recovery, the Orioles seem poised to treat the trade deadline as sellers and regroup for 2026. That could mean shopping Cedric Mullins, Ryan O'Hearn, Ramon Laureano, Zach Eflin and Felix Bautista. They have another veteran salvaging some trade value after a brutal start, as The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal called Charlie Morton a “legitimate trade candidate.” Receiving anything for Morton would have seemed far-fetched

6/26/25 Insider Gives Two Orioles Fan Favorites High Chance of Being Traded. At this point in time, it's hard to not imagine the Baltimore Orioles becoming sellers. Two Orioles who are routinely discussed in trade conversations are Cedric Mullins and Ryan O'Hearn, and it should come as no surprise that Jeff Passan of ESPN gives both of them a high probability of getting dealt this summer. O'Hearn was listed with the higher percentage chance of getting moved in the insider's top 50 trade deadline candidates piece at 85%, with Mullins coming in with a 70% chance.

6/25/25 MLB Insider Names Guardians Trade Fit for Former All-Star Outfielder. The Cleveland Guardians desperately need more offensive production from their outfield. ESPN's Kiley McDaniel and Jeff Passan recently named Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins as a possible trade candidate and identified the Guardians as a "best fit" for the former All-Star. The duo of insiders noted, "Mullins is a 30-year-old center fielder in a contract year who contributes in a number of ways, but his power numbers are trending up this season and are at their best since 2021." Mullins is a 30-year-old pending free agent who likely will demand a hefty payday in the offseason, so he isn't the type of player the Guardians typically target in trades.
