7/05/25 | Carolina Panthers youngster goes from bust to 'most promising building block'. During the early part of the 2024 season, the Carolina Panthers feared the worst with quarterback Bryce Young. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft was struggling mightily and was sent to the bench in favor of veteran Andy Dalton. Then, Dalton suffered a thumb injury in a car accident, which forced the Panthers to give Young another chance. Source: https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/news/carolina-pant... |
7/05/25 | NFL analyst says Bryce Young has more to prove than most in 2025. Coming into 2024, Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young had a lot to prove. Can he be a high-level QB? These questions and more face him, and that's why Geosam James ranked him one of the QBs with the most to prove. There were 10 QBs listed: CJ Stroud, Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Anthony Richardson, Dak Prescott, Sam Darnold, Caleb Williams, and Young. 7/04/25 | 3 serious NFC contenders tabbed landing spots for ex-Panthers edge Jadeveon Clowney. When the Carolina Panthers released Jadeveon Clowney the news came as a surprise. Not only did the news take analysts, reporters and other NFL players off-guard, Clowney himself seemed to be blindsided - and he vowed that he was going to continue playing, and playing well, per NBC Sports. 7/04/25 | Analyst has Carolina Panthers' upgraded skill group still graded as NFC South's worst. The Carolina Panthers have spent the last two offseasons trying to fix the skill-position groups. After their plan in 2023 largely backfired, they've added weapons in every offseason to give them a group of Chuba Hubbard, Rico Dowdle, Xavier Legette, Jalen Coker, Ja'Tavion Sanders, Mitchell Evans, Tetairoa McMillan, Adam Thielen, Jimmy Horn Jr., and Tommy Tremble. 7/04/25 | Key 2025 position battle for Carolina Panthers identified by NFL analyst. The Carolina Panthers finished 2024 on a strong note — or they were at least much better by the end of the season than the beginning. While his development throughout the year was impressive, the Panthers know his play is far from their biggest concern. Carolina had a historically bad defense in 2024, which is why Ejiro Evero has suddenly dropped in defensive coordinator rankings. In an effort to get back on track, they added Tre'Von Moehrig, Tershawn Wharton, Patrick Jones II, and Bobby Brown III in free agency. Source: https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/news/key-2025-posi... |
7/03/25 | ESPN ranks 3 former Panthers DBs best picks ever at their NFL draft slots. The consensus seems to be that the Carolina Panthers dramatically overpaid their secondary this offseason. Jaycee Horn's megadeal has consistently been ranked among the worst in the league at his position, Mike Jackson got a pretty handsome pay-day given his experience and Tre'Von Moehrig is the biggest overpay of any safety in the NFL, according to some analysts. There is some truth to those claims, but the unfortunate fact is that Carolina has to offer potential free agents more money than their competitors - and even that isn't enough sometimes - as we learned from the team's failed pursuit of Jaire Alexander. The only way to break out of this cycle is to start winning games and making better draft picks to build a long-term contender that's better suited to compete thanks to contributions from players on cheap rookie contracts. 7/03/25 | Key Carolina Panthers draft pick named among top-10 NFL rookies to watch in 2025. The Carolina Panthers have little choice but to lean heavily on some of their 2025 NFL draft picks in their inaugural seasons as a pro. At the top of the list, No. 8 overall pick Tetairoa McMillan - a wide receiver out of Arizona - is projected to carry quite the heavy load for a rookie this year. According to ESPN analyst Mike Clay's projections for the coming season, McMillan will wind up seeing a team-high 120 targets, totaling 75 catches, 1,019 receiving yards and six touchdowns. 7/03/25 | Panthers urged to consider overkill trade with Colts. For the first time in a while, the Carolina Panthers seem to be set at wide receiver. Is the current roster filled with star wide receivers? Latham said the Panthers have a "small army" of promising yet unproven wide receivers on the roster. 7/02/25 | No reason potential Panthers game-changer should sit in free agency any longer. The woes of the Carolina Panthers' 2024 defensive unit have been well documented. All of this is the primary reason Dave Canales's squad allowed an NFL-record 534 points in '24. Ejiro Evero's defensive unit gave up 59 offensive touchdowns—24 on the ground and an NFL-high 35 through the air. The Panthers have a highly-regarded pair of cornerbacks in 2024 Pro Bowler Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson. Source: https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/no-reason-potentia... |
7/02/25 | Tackling machine sitting in free agency should be on Panthers radar. Right now, the two thinnest portions of the Carolina Panthers' rebuilt defense are the linebacker and safety rooms. There are options all around in free agency. In particular, linebacker Kyzir White is one that Bleacher Report insider Brent Sobleski thinks could help all teams, but the Panthers have that need more than most. 7/02/25 | 2015 Broncos defense that dominated Panthers earns high praise. The Carolina Panthers might have won Super Bowl 50 if they'd faced virtually any other team. The Broncos had a sort of historic defense that year, and they perfectly matched up with Carolina's weak spots, particularly on the offensive line. Von Miller made life a waking nightmare for Cam Newton that day, something no other player or defensive unit had been able to do for the entire season. It's a defense that will haunt Panthers fans for eternity, and it just got incredibly high praise from Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports. Source: https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/news/2015-broncos-... |
7/02/25 | Free agent cornerback tabbed for reunion with Carolina Panthers by NFL analyst. Despite loads of effort, the Carolina Panthers still have a few holes on defense. Safety and linebacker are far from complete units, and there's literally no depth behind cornerbacks Mike Jackson and Jaycee Horn. The latter issue is one that can easily be addressed with a veteran free agent, perhaps even one who has played with Carolina before. Stephon Gilmore was a big acquisition during the Matt Rhule era, though it's also one that didn't quite pan out. Source: https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/news/free-agent-co... |

7/01/25 | NFL insider picks Panthers' Tetairoa McMillan to outdo Travis Hunter in rookie year. Carolina Panthers rookie Tetairoa McMillan doesn't play defense, so he won't be able to match up with fellow rookie Travis Hunter on that side of the ball. According to CBS Sports' Chris Trapasso, it'll be McMillan. Sure, it's maybe not totally fair to compare the two since Hunter will be taking snaps on both sides, but Trapasso thinks McMillan is poised to be the best rookie wide receiver in the NFL this year. 7/01/25 | NFL insider foresees excellent year for Panthers QB Bryce Young. After a brutal start, one that most NFL players do not bounce back from, the Carolina Panthers quarterback has returned to at least give himself a shot to be the franchise player in the future. One of his bold predictions is not all that bold: that Young ascends into the top 15 of NFL quarterbacks. Source: https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/news/nfl-insider-e... |
6/30/25 | Key second-year DB labeled Carolina Panthers' biggest offseason surprise by ESPN. When you give up the most touchdown passes in the league, you can't have enough talent at the cornerback position. The Carolina Panthers have a very capable pair in 2024 Pro Bowler Jaycee Horn and unsung Mike Jackson. ESPN's NFL Nation assembled a list from each of the 32 teams in regards to a surprise player in 2025. David Newton covers the Carolina Panthers, and had this to say about cornerback Chau Smith-Wade. 6/30/25 | Who is Charles 'Peanut' Tillman? Ex-Bears cornerback becomes an FBI agent. ML Football announced the 44-year-old's shocking career change via a social media post, which read, “Legendary Chicago #Bears cornerback Charles “Peanut” Tillman is now an FBI AGENT.” Starting as a second-round pick for the Bears in 2003, Tillman played as a cornerback for the team for twelve years up until 2015, when he made a brief one-year switch to the Carolina Panthers. 6/30/25 | ESPN predicts Carolina Panthers finally pick a Clemson prospect in 2026 NFL draft. The Carolina Panthers are the only team in the NFL to have never drafted a player from Clemson University. This is perhaps an unsurprising factoid, since there are undoubtedly other colleges that some NFL teams have ignored. Clemson is the closest "football school" to the Panthers, and yet they've never drafted from them. Source: https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/draft/espn-carolin... |
6/29/25 | Long-time NFL vet named Panthers' most-obvious trade candidate. In 2024, the Carolina Panthers not only allowed the most total yards in the league, Dave Canales's team gave up an NFL-high 179.8 yards per game on the ground. General manager Dan Morgan was very aggressive this offseason when it came to addressing defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero's front seven. Getting defensive tackle Derrick Brown back this season after missing all but one game in '24 certainly helps. Last offseason, the club signed veteran defensive lineman D'Shawn Robinson to a three-year, $22.5 million deal (via Spotrac). Source: https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/long-time-nfl-vet-... |
