10/14/24 Padres Projected $11 Million All-Star Could Be 2025 Option For Cardinals. The St. Louis Cardinals will be lowering payroll with the hope of resetting the organization in 2025. The Cardinals may not add a top starter like Corbin Burnes this winter, but they will need to bring in at least one hurler probably. One player who could be a solid option for the 2025 season is San Diego Padres All-Star pitcher Martín Pérez. Pérez is a 13-year big league veteran who had a 4.53 ERA in 26 starts last season overall with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Padres.

10/13/24 Red Sox Should Land Astros $36 Million All-Star As Top Option. It's clear that the Boston Red Sox are going to add to the starting rotation this winter. Boston needs at least one more starter – preferably a left-handed hurler – and has made it known that it isn't going to be afraid to spend this winter. The Red Sox have a chance to make some noise in 2025 and adding more pitching only will help that fact. As nice as it would be to add someone like Corbin Burnes in free agency, Boston doesn't necessarily need to add the top free agent this winter.

10/12/24 Royals Named Best Landing Spot for Baltimore Orioles Star Outfielder. The Baltimore Orioles were eliminated from the playoffs earlier than they would have liked, as the Kansas City Royals took them out in two straight games. Both Corbin Burnes and Anthony Santander will be free agents this offseason and the two will be highly sought after. For Baltimore, it is unlikely that they will pursue both and, with a lot of talented young position players and an easier way to fill a void if Santander left, they should be prioritizing signing Burnes. With that being said, Santander will have a lot of suitors this offseason, even if the Orioles aren't one of them.

10/11/24 Cubs 'must sign' projected $255 million four-time All-Star, per report. The Chicago Cubs have a long way to go toward World Series contention. After missing the playoffs for the fourth-consecutive season, it seems like it would take a slew of blockbuster moves to turn the roster into a true championship contender again. And, projecting the players that the Cubs “must sign to win the 2025 World Series” for FanSided, Zach Pressnell listed four-time All-Star ace Corbin Burnes as one such signing. “If they want to acquire a pitcher, they might as well go after the best starter on the market, Corbin Burnes,” Pressnell noted. “Burnes is set to become a free agent following a Cy Young-caliber season, though he will fall short in the voting thanks to Tarik Skubal's special

10/09/24 $56 Million Cy Young Winner Would Be Dream Trade Option For Red Sox. The Boston Red Sox are expected to be much more active this winter but that doesn't mean that the club should be hasty. Boston isn't far from contending and has gotten to this point by utilizing patience in the offseason and focusing on internal growth and not-so-expensive veterans. The Red Sox could contend as soon as 2025, but that doesn't mean they should hand out a mega deal just to do so. There will be some very expensive starting pitchers available in either Corbin Burnes or Max Fried.

10/08/24 Chicago Cubs Linked to Elite Pitcher Who'd Be Cheaper Than Corbin Burnes. The Chicago Cubs have been linked to Corbin Burnes multiple times throughout the offseason, but there might be better options for them at a cheaper price. Look, the Cubs shouldn't be cheap in any scenario during the offseason. If the right-hander could be had, especially with his ties to Craig Counsell, there doesn't seem to be much of a reason not to go after him. There will be many options on the free agency market for them to pursue, including left-hander Max Fried.

10/07/24 Red Sox Should Keep Eye On Ex-Yankees $40 Million Star This Postseason. There will be ways for the Boston Red Sox to improve the roster this winter without breaking the bank. It would be amazing to splurge on a player like Baltimore Orioles ace Corbin Burnes, but Boston has other holes to fill as well. The Red Sox need to find a way to add a dependable starter, multiple right-handed bats, and multiple relievers. Giving Burnes a $200-plus million deal would be fantastic, but with the way the team has spent in recent years, it doesn't seem likely that they would then hand out big contracts elsewhere as well to fill the other holes.

10/04/24 Dodgers could be preferred destination for $180 million Cy Young Award winner. The Los Angeles Dodgers are not shy about spending and could be looking for upgrades in the starting rotation in free agency. While listing teams Corbin Burnes could prefer over the Baltimore Orioles, FanSided's Zach Pressnell mentioned the Dodgers.

10/03/24 Red Sox Could Target $215 Million Star After Free Agency Comments. Will the Boston Red Sox land a top-of-the-rotation ace this winter? If the Red Sox can add one more star to the rotation, there is a strong chance they could be in the playoffs next year. It's clear that the top starting pitcher that will be available this winter certainly is Baltimore Orioles ace Corbin Burnes. Burnes has a career 3.19 ERA in 199 games, including an impressive 2.92 ERA in 2024 with the Orioles.

9/30/24 Tigers face daunting challenge from Astros' arms in Wild Card matchup. One of the scariest things about a potential rematch with the Baltimore Orioles was yet another game against ace Corbin Burnes. Burnes had beaten the Tigers twice in September, a month in which they were otherwise untouchable.

9/29/24 The most memorable moments of the 2024 Milwaukee Brewers season: Part 1. The 2024 MLB season continues into October once again for the Milwaukee Brewers but, no matter what happens in these next few weeks, we've already seen a fair number of moments to remember. For over a decade, I've been maintaining a “Today in Wisconsin Baseball History” calendar, a collection of notable transactions, games, and moments, which I occasionally share on Twitter. Part two of this feature, containing the notable events from July through October, will run following the conclusion of the Brewers' postseason appearance. Not long before the Brewers loaded up the equipment truck for Phoenix, they announced that one of their most prominent performers wouldn't have a locker there: Three-time All-Star Corbin Burnes, the 2021 National League Cy Young Award winner and then-owner of the number five spot on the franchise's all-time strikeout list, was traded to the Orioles for pitcher DL Hall and infielder Joey Ortiz.

9/27/24 Braves ace "makes sense" for Orioles as Corbin Burnes replacement. The Baltimore Orioles struck gold this past offseason when they found their ace, Corbin Burnes. In the event that he leaves, Baltimore will need a new ace to replace him. Jon Heyman noted that there are other pitchers on the market who could help the Orioles out. "Max Fried is the other obvious available ace," Heyman wrote.

9/26/24 Orioles look to ride loud bats to another win over Yankees. The Baltimore Orioles saw their bats come to life in the past two nights, and their production is keeping the champagne on ice for the New York Yankees. The Orioles aim to produce another string of successful at-bats while the Yankees hope to finally clinch the American League East Thursday night when the division rivals meet in the final game of the season series in New York. Offense may be scarce for both teams since Corbin Burnes (15-8, 2.95 ERA) starts for Baltimore against New York's Gerrit Cole (7-5, 3.67) in a battle of right-handed Cy Young Award winners.
