6/19/25 Juan Soto calls out umpire following mistake in Mets loss. The New York Mets have fallen on hard times of late, as they've lost five consecutive games dating back to their June 12 victory against the Washington Nationals. While New York's excellent start to the season has given them a cushion in the NL East, the fact that they're facing the Atlanta Braves right now (who they've dropped two straight games against), then play the Philadelphia Phillies, then have another series against Atlanta means the Mets need to right the ship if they're to maintain their standing at the top of the division. The score of this Tuesday game was tied at 4-4 entering the ninth inning, which Juan Soto then started hot with a single.

6/18/25 Mets looking for life from stars in NL showdowns with Braves, Phillies. The New York Mets have begun an important stretch of games that has gotten off to a less than ideal start. After getting walked off by the Atlanta Braves, it is clear that everyone needs to start pulling their own weight, especially in the race for the National League East. Despite Juan Soto hitting his 14th homer of the year to help build a 4-1 lead, the Mets still got themselves in trouble with baserunning blunders, poor pitching, and some questionable decisions made by manager Carlos Mendoza. The loss against Atlanta marked New York's fourth consecutive loss, their first extended slide of 2025.

6/17/25 ESPN gets clear about Mets lineup's biggest weakness. It's hard to poke holes in what the New York Mets have accomplished this season so far. This is proven not only by the NL East-leading 45-27 record that they're bringing into their June 17 game against the Atlanta Braves (which makes for the second-best winning percentage in all of MLB), but how their offense, starting rotation, and relief corps have all performed above expectations. Not to mention that slugger Juan Soto hasn't had the season fans expected of him to this point.

6/13/25 In Charlie Hustle's day, 110% effort was non-negotiable. In modern baseball, it's more complicated. DENVER | Imagine this inspirational slogan on a T-shirt: Give 70% effort. It's not quite as catchy as the 110% baseball players have been instructed to exert since Little League. Nicknames derive from it (Charlie Hustle) and awards are built around it ( Heart & Hustle ). Most notably, when Juan Soto, the Mets $765 million star, didn't run hard to second base after smacking a ball high off the Green Monster at Fenway Park.

6/12/25 Nationals manager's 'careful' Juan Soto warning speaks volumes. Don't look now, but New York Mets slugger Juan Soto seems to have finally found his stride in Queens. Heading into the Mets' June 11 contest against the Washington Nationals, Soto is hitting .400 with a 1.200 OPS in his last seven games. While many Mets fans had been feeling frustrated with how Soto began his tenure with the team after signing the largest contract in sports history this past offseason, the more patient fans knew that it was only a matter of time before he caught fire — and that's exactly what has occurred. Given that Soto spent most of his first five seasons with the Nationals, manager Dave Martinez (who has been at Washington's helm since the 2018 season, when Soto made his debut) knows the 26-year-old all too well.

6/11/25 Soto stares down Gore after HR, helps Mets rally. Following a May slump that dropped his batting average to .224, Juan Soto has eight hits in his last four games. And when he homered Tuesday night, the Mets slugger stared down Nationals pitcher MacKenzie Gore a couple of times while rounding the bases.

6/11/25 MACK: MY Wednesday Observations - Mets Future: OF (Part 2 of 2). MACK -  I'm a big fan of Benge and I see him and Nick Morabito as future starting outfielders, with Juan Soto in right. In Brooklyn this season, through 6-6, Serrano has a stat line of: 136-AB, 5-HR, 27-RBI, 4-SB, 24-BB, 31-K, .243/.366/.441/.807.

6/10/25 Mets-Orioles blockbuster trade proposal ships $9 million All-Star to Queens. For the New York Mets, finding help on offense at the trade deadline is an interesting proposition. In general, the Mets' offense has been good, and they expect it to be better. Juan Soto's numbers have been bad by Juan Soto's standards, and New York hopes catcher Francisco Alvarez will eventually come around too. The only position that stands out as a negative offensively is center field, where Jose Siri has been hurt all season and Tyrone Taylor has struggled.

6/09/25 Mets' Juan Soto achieves career first amid hot start to June. After a slow two months to start his New York Mets career, Juan Soto appears to be warming up with the weather. While the thin air of playing in Denver certainly helps, Soto has been red hot since the calendar flipped from May to June. In that span of eight games, Soto is hitting .346 (9-for-26) with two home runs, four RBI, 12 walks, and an absurd 1.179 OPS.

6/08/25 Mets could trade for Orioles slugger on track to make All-Star Game. Could the New York Mets actually care more about finding offense at the trade deadline than pitching? Coming into the season, the Mets looked to have one of the most stacked lineups in baseball, but an iffy, half-injured starting rotation. Instead, every pitching acquisition the Mets have made has paid off handsomely, while the offense has just been good instead of great. The Mets expect that eventually, superstar Juan Soto will kick into gear and the whole lineup will get a boost as a result.

6/07/25 Yankees announcer calls Mets fans 'gnats' amid Juan Soto rant. ESPN New York radio host Michael Kay was one of the people who initially reported that New York Mets slugger Juan Soto wasn't content during his first few months with the Mets this season, as he noted last month that Soto, “very, very glum around the clubhouse,” during the team's series at Yankee Stadium. Kay received a ton of criticism from Mets fans for this sentiment, especially over the past week or so since Soto went viral for messing around with his teammates in the dugout during a game, which suggests his contentment. This prompted Kay to go on a rant about Mets fans during a June 5 episode of "The Michael Kay Show".

6/07/25 Yankees advised to make surprising decision with Devin Williams. The New York Yankees made a lot of moves after losing Juan Soto this offseason, and the early returns look very promising. Max Fried has been a Cy Young candidate, Paul Goldschmidt is playing at an All-Star level, and Cody Bellinger has found his groove after getting off to a slow start. A two-time National League Reliever of the Year, Williams was one of the best closers in baseball with the Milwaukee Brewers.
