4/22/24 Brewers Rewarded for Putting Ball in Play. The Brewers won three games in the last week where they scored two runs or fewer, a familiar story for a team whose pitching staff finished first in the National League in earned run average but whose offense was last in total bases last season. The way the Brewers scored runs in those games, however, is a pretty significant difference from some of the criticisms this team faced a year ago. The first of the three wins came on Wednesday, when Brice Turang singled, stole second base and came home on Blake Perkins' ground ball single in a 1-0 victory over the Padres. Friday's 2-1, 10-inning win over the Cardinals turned when William Contreras grounded a single up the middle to give the Brewers the lead.

The Brewers completed a road sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals with a 2-0 win Sunday as Blake Perkins robbed a home run in the first inning and Owen Miller hit a clutch two-run single in the seventh. One thing that Milwaukee hasn't done on its way to the top of the National League Central is keep its winning ways up for five straight games.

4/17/24 Perkins singles in 8th to give Brewers 1-0 win over Padres, spoiling King's stellar pitching. Blake Perkins hit a single in the eighth inning to crack a scoreless game and lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 1-0 win over the San Diego Padres. The hit spoiled a stellar start Wednesday by Padres right-hander Michael King, who pitched a no-hitter through 6 2/3 innings. King didn’t allow a runner past first base until the eighth inning, when Brice Turang stole second after hitting a single. King was charged with a run when Turang scored on Perkins’ single off Wandy Peralta.

6/20/23 D-backs squander lead with late miscues in loss vs. Brewers. The Arizona Diamondbacks led Tuesday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers from the top of the first until a tumultuous bottom of the seventh. The Brewers put up four runs to overtake Arizona, and they held on for a 7-5 win. The D-backs squandered a chance to earn another series win, and it was the defense that faltered and opened the door for a big inning. With one on and no outs in the seventh, Brewers RF Blake Perkins — a Verrado High School alum — tapped a slow chopper to second base.
