2/15/24 Blue Jays get brutal Cavan Biggio injury update ahead of spring training. The Toronto Blue Jays finished third in the American League East last season, 12 games behind the division winning Baltimore Orioles. For the Blue Jays to take the next step, they will need to be health entering the season and get off to a fast start, a proposition that looks a bit more challenging with the latest Cavan Biggio injury news. Recently Toronto Manager John Schneider's comments on the 2024 Blue Jays were released and they will have fans feeling fired up. Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s $19.9 million contract arbitration situation got an important update.

1/29/24 Better know your Blue Jays 40-man: Cavan Biggio. We are five years into Cavan Biggio's MLB career, and he has worked his way from star second baseman to utility player. He hit .234/.364/.429 in his first season with 16 home runs, good for a 3.0 bWAR in 100 games. That had him finishing fifth in All-Star voting. He hit for the cycle on September 17th; it was just the third time in Jays' history and the second time a father and son had done it in the MLB. His second season started slowly (which would become a theme). May 5th he was hitting .179/.286/.286. He was playing third base, not particularly well, and working his way out of an everyday role. After May 5th he was better (.236/.333/.385). Unfortunately, 2020 was a shortened season (just

9/22/23 Blue Jays slugger Guerrero back in starting lineup for series opener against Rays. Guerrero, who missed most of the last two games with right knee discomfort, was slated to bat third as the designated hitter. Cavan Biggio was set to bat cleanup and play Guerrero's usual position of first base.

8/23/23 Jays Lose to Orioles. Blue Jays 0 Orioles 7 Yesterday's game was fun, today's game was terrible. Yesterday, we could score. Today, we couldn't. That's pretty much the story of the season. We managed five hits, all singles. The closest we came to scoring was a Cavan Biggio deep fly ball that Cedric Mullins made a great catch of, which, I thought, would be a home run in the eighth inning. Beyond that our best chance to score was the first. Bichette had a one-out single and Vladimir Guerrero a two-out single, moving Bo to third.. But George Springer popped out to medium center. That was the only time we had a runner in scoring position. Kevin Gausman pitched well. Six innings, 5 hits, 2 earned, 1 walk with 8 strikeouts.

8/08/23 Biggio's homer sends Blue Jays to 3-1 win over Guardians after Ryu exits with knee injury. Cavan Biggio hit a two-run homer to break a scoreless tie in the eighth inning, and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Cleveland Guardians 3-1 after losing starting pitcher Hyun Jin Ryu to a knee injury. Biggio’s drive to center field came off reliever Enyel De Los Santos and scored Daulton Varsho. Toronto had been held to one hit over the first seven innings by Guardians rookie Gavin Williams, who struck out a season-high 12. Ryu was struck on the right kneecap by Oscar Gonzalez’s line drive that turned into the final out of the fourth, forcing him to exit with a bruised knee in his second start since undergoing Tommy John surgery in June 2022. The 36-year-old left-hander tossed four hitless innings.
