The Oakland A's released pitching prospect Billy Sullivan this week, who they acquired from the Phillies in a trade for outfielder Cristian Pache in March 2023. Sullivan, 25, never appeared in a major league game for the A's. He struggled at Triple-A Las Vegas last year with a 5.34 ERA and a 1.76 WHIP in 57 1/3 innings. He

Unlikely Hero Saves Philadelphia Phillies With Clutch Hit Cristian Pache came up big for the Philadelphia Phillies with the game on the line. Author: Tyler Maher Apr 16, 2024 In this story: Philadelphia Phillies MLB Cristian Pache No matter how many big names and expensive stars a team has, sometimes it's the little guy who ends up making the difference. That was the case in the Philadelphia Phillies ' 2-1 win over the Colorado Rockies on Monday night. The Phillies' recent slump continued, producing just two runs and six hits (five singles) in 10 innings against one of the worst teams in baseball. Bryce Harper put Philadelphia on the board with an RBI single in the bottom of the third, but the

Philadelphia Phillies' Talented Outfielder Fighting For Career This Spring There's a major battle taking place for a bench spot on the Philadelphia Phillies' roster and for one talented outfielder it's a battle for his career. Author: Andy Jasner Mar 8, 2024 10:07 AM EST In this story: Philadelphia Phillies The talent and potential were always evident. Cristian Pache showed it with the Oakland Athletics and the Atlanta Braves . But not enough to garner much playing time. The same battle has emerged with the Philadelphia Phillies . 3/03/24 In an important spring, Phillies' Cristian Pache feels ready: 'My mind is stronger than it was before'. There was a time, not long ago, when Cristian Pache would overanalyze things he could not control. Pache's thoughts had no bearing on the Braves' decision to trade him to the A's in 2022, or the A's decision to trade him to the Phillies a year later. Pache is competing for the last bench spot on the Phillies' big league roster. Pache, 25, is coming off a difficult season.

2/28/24 Phillies news and rumors 2/28: Cristian Pache a way-too-early Spring Training standout. There are not many spots up for grabs on the Phillies’ Opening Day roster, so if we’re going to overanalyze anyone’s Spring Training — especially anyone’s Spring Training through exactly two games — let it be someone fighting for one of the few. Cristian Pache, battling for the last spot on the Phillies’ bench, is […]

11/02/23 2023 Phillies in review: Cristian Pache. Cristian Pache's first year in Philadelphia was one of tantalizing potential and unfortunate timing. Pache's exceptional defense was well known, but he never had hit remotely close to enough to stay in the Majors consistently. Acquiring Pache was, in essence, a vote of confidence in hitting coach Kevin Long's ability to turn Pache into something closer to a league average hitter. It didn't start off too well for Pache, as it seemed like he was constantly up in a big spot in the game with runners on and routinely made an out.

10/09/23 Cristian Pache starting in left field for Phillies in Game 2 of NLDS. ATLANTA — When Cristian Pache came up through the Braves' farm system, he was billed as the second coming of Andruw Jones. Two organizations later, Pache has a chance to inflict pain on his former team. Pache will be the Phillies ' left fielder Monday night for Game 2 of the best-of-five division series. With lefty Max Fried starting for the Braves, manager Rob Thomson opted for Pache, a right-handed hitter, over lefty-swinging Brandon Marsh . The Braves traded Pache to Oakland before last season in a package for slugging first baseman Matt Olson, who led the majors with 54 homers this year. But Pache continued to struggle at the plate with the A's, and after losing a spring-training center-field

9/15/23 Phillies overcome Bryce Harper's ejection, errors and testing of the bullpen to beat Cardinals, 5-4. The Phillies made their win on Friday night far more difficult than it needed to be. In the fourth inning, Cristian Pache fielded a ground ball in left field, and instead of throwing to first, he threw it between first and the mound.
