Dalbec has been optioned back to Triple-A Worcester, according to WEEI's Rob Bradford, clearing a roster spot for the expected activation of second baseman Vaughn Grissom before Friday's series opener in Minnesota. The move has not been made official by the Sox, who lost, 3-1, to the Giants on Thursday. The move comes as no surprise considering the new makeup of the Red Sox' infield mix. After the game, Dalbec was asked about finally breaking through with a hit and he did sound slightly frustrated. The Red Sox optioned Bobby Dalbec on Monday evening, and the corresponding move should help them stay true to one of their primary objectives in the early portion of the season. He tied for the International League with Luken Baker who crushed 33 for Memphis, the Cardinals Triple-A affiliate. The minor league regular season officially ended Sunday. Dalbec obviously isn't a prospect after having exceeded his rookie limits in 2021.
