6/24/25 Stephen Vogt happy for Ernie Clement's rise — just not this week: Guardians takeaways. Ernie Clement was once a utility man trying to crack Cleveland's lineup. Now he's a lineup fixture in Toronto — and Guardians manager Stephen Vogt, who played briefly with the infielder toward the end of his career with the Athletics, has taken notice. Clement, Cleveland's 2017 fourth-round pick out of Virginia, was released by the Guardians in 2022 after making his big-league debut with the club the previous season. Clement found his way to Toronto in 2023 after crossing paths with Vogt in Oakland.

6/12/25 Toronto Blue Jays Major Offseason Additions Have All Been Busts Thus Far. The Toronto Blue Jays are one of the hottest teams in baseball, sitting a season-high eight games over the .500 mark with a 38-30 record. Winners in 12 out of their last 14 contests, they have pushed their way right back into the playoff picture in the American League, currently holding the final wild card spot. The Blue Jays have been receiving excellent contributions from players up and down the roster, with unheralded hitters such as Ernie Clement and Addison Barger taking their games to another level in May. With the supporting cast playing well, the offense is starting to show signs of life with shortstop Bo Bichette rediscovering his power stroke.

6/11/25 Blue Jays Complete Sweep Over Cardinals, Extend Historic Hot Streak. The Toronto Blue Jays, looking to sweep the St. Louis Cardinals, immediately found themselves in a 2-0 hole Wednesday afternoon. Not wanting their hot streak to end, it didn't take long for Toronto to bounce back. The Blue Jays scored twice in the third, then two more times in the fourth. After Toronto added another run in the fifth on an Ernie Clement solo shot, neither team scored for the rest of the contest. With a sweep-clinching 5-2 victory in their back pocket, the Blue Jays improved to 12-2 over their last 14 games. According to TSN's StatsCentre , that is tied for Toronto's second-best 14-game stretch since 1994. They went 13-1 between July 30 and Aug. 13 in 2015, but have otherwise maxed

6/05/25 How Blue Jays fan favourite Davis Schneider worked through hitting struggles to get back to Toronto. Nestled between the gregarious confines of Ernie Clement's locker and an empty cubby, a strikingly unforgettable character has set up shop in the Blue Jays clubhouse this week. After a stint to reset at Triple-A Buffalo, bespectacled fan favourite Davis Schneider is back. Aside from causing some mild confusion in the clubhouse given that he has the same surname as the team's manager — it happens fairly often — the return is a welcome sight for the Jays and their fans.

5/31/25 [SB Nation: Athletics Nation] - debAcle: Assigning “Blame” Is Harder Than Meets The Eye. It has become one of those seasons where you ask yourself, "Will Ernie Clement, a career .253/.288/.364 hitter, fall a triple short of the cycle against us for the third straight game?" And where...
