1/10/24 2023 Los Angeles Dodgers Player Reviews: Luke Williams. The Los Angeles Dodgers first claimed Luke Williams off waivers from the Miami Marlins in November 2022, but then non-tendered him less than two weeks later. The Dodgers re-signed Williams to a Minor League contract that included an invitation to Spring Training, and he would ultimately begin the 2023 season with Triple-A Oklahoma City. After hitting .375/.455/.696 with 12 extra-base hits in 14 games for OKC, Williams was recalled by the Dodgers as the corresponding move to Mookie Betts going on the paternity list.

Luke Williams had two different stints on the Dodgers' 40-man roster since getting acquired last offseason, and the utility man appeared in four games for Los Angeles in 2023. Williams was first claimed off waivers by the Dodgers from the Marlins on November 8, 2022, joining a team that plays its home games about 60 miles north of his alma mater, Dana Hills High School.

6/05/23 Dodgers Roster: Luke Williams Claimed By Atlanta Braves. The Atlanta Braves claimed Luke Williams off waivers on Monday, marking the end of his time with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization after seven months. The Dodgers claimed Williams off waivers last November, only to non-tender him less than two weeks later. Williams became a free agent but ultimately signed a Minor League contract with the Dodgers and was among their non-roster invitees to Spring Training. Williams impressed during Cactus League play, although began the season with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

5/12/23 Dodgers minors: Luke Williams, Eddys Leonard, Maddux Bruns. Thursday saw a pair of Dodgers first-round draft picks get hit around on the mound, plus a few standout offensive performances. Luke Williams hit a go-ahead grand slam in the seventh inning for Oklahoma City in his best game since getting optioned back to Triple-A on April 28. Williams entered Thursday in a 1-for-13 slump, but added a pair of singles to go with his home run against Round Rock. Williams, Bradley Zimmer, and Ben DeLuzio all homered and combined to drive in eight of the nine runs in Oklahoma City's road win over the Round Rock Express (Rangers).

4/20/23 Dodgers minors: Nick Frasso, Maddux Bruns put up more zeroes. Wednesday in the Dodgers minor leagues saw a pair of high-strikeout scoreless outings from two pitchers to watch, and a slew of infielder movement within levels after the Dodgers called up infielders Luke Williams and Yonny Hernández to the majors over the previous two days. Nick Frasso struck out seven in four scoreless innings for Double-A Tulsa, continuing his impressive start to the season. Frasso walked two, hit a batter, and allowed four singles but kept Wichita off the scoreboard. Through three starts this season, Frasso has allowed two runs in 13 innings, with 18 strikeouts (a 33.3-percent strikeout rate) and three walks.

3/30/23 Dodgers send Luke Williams, Drew Avans, Hunter Feduccia, Tayler Scott to Triple-A. The Dodgers final cuts of spring training as they finalized their opening day roster was to send four non-roster invitees to the minors. Outfielder Drew Avans, utility man Luke Williams, catcher Hunter Feduccia, and pitcher Tayler Scott made it all the way to the end of spring training before getting reassigned. All four players are on the preliminary roster for Triple-A Oklahoma City, which opens its season on Friday night. Avans tied for the team lead with 24 games played in Cactus League play, filling in at all three outfield spots in reserve, including playing on each of the last 18 days in which the Dodgers had a game in Arizona.

The 26-year-old comes to Los Angeles via waiver claim. The 26-year-old has played in parts of the last two seasons with the Phillies, Giants, and Marlins.

10/03/22 2022 Marlins Season Review: Luke Williams. Luke Williams started 2022 with the Phillies, but the former Olympian was traded to the Giants in spring training, then DFA’d in May. That’s when the Miami Marlins decided to acquire him in exchange for prospect Hayden Cantrelle. Expectations were pretty low for Williams when he joined the Marlins, but his role got clearer as the season went on.

He even got some help from Luke Williams, Jesús Aguilar, Billy Hamilton, and Garrett Cooper on the offensive side, and Miguel Rojas, Charles Leblanc, and JJ Bleday on the defensive side. The evening began with Sandy getting into significant trouble and loading the bases with one out. But after a visit from Miguel Rojas, Sandy rolled two groundballs right back to the mound, the first he threw home to prevent a run and the second to first to end the inning.

7/04/22 Washington Nationals swept in 4-game series with 3-2 loss to Miami Marlins; drop 12th in 13 to Fish in 2022.... Going up against the Marlins this morning, Corbin tossed two quick, scoreless innings on 18 pitches to start, but he gave up a leadoff single by Luke Williams in the top of the third, and Miami’s second baseman today took second a batter later, on a sac bunt by Billy Hamilton, stole third base (mostly on the pitcher), and scored on a two-out line drive single off Jesús Aguilar’s bat, 1-0.

4/25/22 SF Giants promote Williams, place Yastrzemski on COVID list. Utility man Luke Williams has rejoined the Giants in Milwaukee while outfielder Mike Yastrzemski has officially been placed on the COVID-19 injured list. Williams, who was acquired during spring training in a trade with the Phillies, made the Opening Day roster and was 2-for-5 with three RBIs for the Giants before being sent down to Triple-A Sacramento on April 19.

He has had trouble running and fielding at full speed. La Stella's injury opened the door for Luke Williams, a right-handed hitter who was picked up from the Philadelphia Phillies last month.
